Thursday September 7(E1 Finals)
(1)Bramabulls vs Deadlast(7) Game 1
Deadlast pounce on Bramabulls to move one step closer to glory
Captain C.Zafiropoulos wanted his team to attack his opponent with speed, aggression and a dash of responsibility. And while this contest was fairly close for the most part, the third period was where the flood gates opened for Deadlast. Five out of their seven goals came in that final frame alone. G.Lallis’s early shorthand tally may have gone done as the goal that demoralised the Bramabulls. Rather than cutting the lead in half on a power play chance, the Bramabulls saw their hole dug deeper trailing 3-0.For the remainder of the that frame, Deadlast overwhelmed the Bramabulls with wave after wave of pressure, the kind that became the clubs trademark during its sprint to another successful post season. Although this was only game one of the final, Deadlast felt the confidence going into another match where they knew that this series would end sooner than later.
(7)Deadlast vs Bramabulls(3) Game 3
Deadlast finish off dismantling of Bulls in two game sweep
Deadlast didn’t just take the series in two games. They extinguished them, erased them and threw the key away after locking them out. Neither of the two games were close with Deadlast pouring on seven more tallies in this contest vs a dry offense. The Bramabulls struggled in all three areas of the court unable to put up a good fight .For Deadlast, this was just business as usual, building a 5-0 lead before giving up their first goal. J.Sanoudakis was very pleased with his defence in front of him making his night easier than expected. Again, seven different players found the back of the net which suggested no one in particular had to step up except for relying on an overall team game. The Bramabulls failed to weather the storm as they fell behind 3-0 after only nine minutes into the contest. Deadlast knew-from there that they had the championship despite plenty of hockey left over. On behalf of Hockeyballe.com, congratulations go out to Costa Zafiropoulos and the rest of Deadlast for capturing the E1 Thursday division title.
The SalumiVino player of the night goes to John Sanoudakis of Deadlast. Calm and collectively, the veteran net minder never once panicked going about his business, and in process collected two huge wins en route to another championship.
