(8)Sportek vs Les Immigrant(4)
Off season changes pays off for Sportek
Sometimes a little tweak here and there is all it takes to make an entire difference, at least in this particular case. Sportek's new additions helped complement their existing core, and in doing so, they toppled Les Immigrant with an 8-4 victory. C.Flikas and M.Dubicki did half of the scoring netting two goals each. Les Immigrant didn't have their best start giving up four first period goals but adjusted after the frame was over. M.Chamoun faced 19 shots to collect an early season win while A.Zardarian had a very busy night receiving 30 shots.
(4)Shockers vs Brew Crew(3) O.T
J.Collins sends rocket- from point in 4-3 OT win over Brew Crew
With a four minute power play heading into overtime, it was inevitable that the Shockers would find a way to score, especially with four minutes to get it done in a 4 on 3 situation. But it was the unlikely hero of the four players that were on to muster the credit. J.Collins, out of nowhere sent a missile that was undetectable by any radar gun that got the better of C.Muccino. This early season battle had the vibe of a playoff game. Both teams played very intense which resulted in a few trips to the penalty box. The Shockers looked to be the better club early on grabbing a 3-1 lead but couldn't keep the Brew Crew off long enough. R.Campopiano riffled a late third period goal that sent this game into extra time where the Shockers made sure to capitalize with their 4 on 3 power play opportunity.
(7)Lynx vs Wild Dogs(1)
P.Stroubakis, captain J.Lang score hat tricks as Lynx routs Wild Dogs 7-1
It didn't take long for the Lynx to break the game wide open. By the time the first period ended, this contest was over and done with. The Lynx stormed out of the gate notching five first period tallies sending an early season message that there would be more to come. However, things did slow down at that point but it didn't really matter too much for the Lynx since everything was under control. The Wild Dogs limited scoring saw only their captain A.Addante get the better of S.Catalano, who stopped 19 of 20 shots to earn the win in net. Most of the scoring was done by only two players on this night. Led by their captain J.Lang and P.Stroubakis, both players showed off their skills by bagging three goals each.
The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Jeremy Lang of the Lynx. The captain led by example on the court producing five points that included a hat trick.
