(6)Mighty Drunks vs Mohicans(7)
Mighty Drunks comeback falls short to Mohicans
The Mighty Drunks stormed back posting four third period goals, two coming in a shorthanded situation by A.Jalilvand only to fall short. The Mohicans opened up the game by the second period where they came out hard finding the back of the net four times with balanced scoring. N.Gilbert was the only multi goal scorer for his club while S.Barbe may have posted the most important tally for the game winner. This was the first game of the season for the Mohicans, who will look to be tough to beat with their deep line up and young quick forwards.
(3)Carnage vs Raging Rhinos(6)
Three players score twice as Raging Rhinos double up Carnage
With three players on two goals each, the Raging Rhinos got more than enough offence required on this night. D.Ramada , S.Pilon and S.Labrecque got the better of B.Madonis, but got help-from A.Papazian setting up four of the six goals. At no point did the Raging Rhinos feel any sense of urgency. They built a 3-0 lead by the ten minute mark of the opening period and allowed their last two tallies fairly late in the game. B.Verducci wasn't able to keep C.Kalogeropoulos off the score sheet in time as the skilled forward beat him twice. With this result, Carnage falls to a 0-2 record while the Raging Rhinos will be gunning for many more wins to come.
(0)SBS Trashers vs Bramabulls(2)
Two late goals give Bramabulls edge over SBS Trashers
The Bramabulls scored twice in the final four minutes to beat the SBS Trashers 2-0 on Thursday night. Forward C.Palermo broke the deadlock at the eleven minute mark of the final frame, and then two minutes later, D.Verta made sure of the victory beating R.Pampena once more. It's not like the SBS Trashers didn't have their chances attempting 22 shots towards C.Muccino. Unfortunately, the ball just doesn't seem to want to go in. This is their second consecutive game having scored only one tally so far. Knowing that this contest could have gone either way against a very good hockey team, the SBS Trashers won't concern themselves too much with the season still very young.
(5)Ottarks vs Werewolves(1)
Strong second half guides Ottarks past Werewolves
D.Guarnieri and L.Dulcetta ,two of the Ottarks key pieces, didn't and wont take any nights off this season. The two will be a threat all season long and tonight was just an example of how dangerous they can be. Both players each scored twice while R.Zariello scored another for his third goal of the season. Despite the end result, the Werewolves hung in their having played with a very limited line up. A.Zarzour did his part making sure that S.Morante couldn't collect his shutout as the net minder denied 18 of 19 shots his way. The Ottarks just collected their second win in as many games defeating two very solid hockey teams.
(11)Chiefs vs United Arms(1)
Experience Chiefs score lopsided win over United Arms
Considering the age gap along with the amount of minutes played- from one team to the other ,the United Arms will only learn and get better in due time. However, in the case of tonight's game, there wasn't much the newly added squad could have done. The Chiefs patiently waited for some mistakes to occur and made sure to pounce on every opportunity that turned into goal after goal. All there tallies went in as of the first two periods ending the night earlier than expected. M.Chenier led all players netting a hat trick while P.Santullo and S.Koulieris each scored twice. The United Arms did manage the first goal very early in the game when H.Jerjian ripped a bullet-from centre court that completely fooled R.Ranieri.
The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Carmen Muccino of the Bramaulls. After facing 22 shots versus the SBS Trashers, the veteran net minder never onced flinched to earn a well deserved shutout.
