Corporation and Walking Tall trade remarkable comebacks

Even though they went down 4-0, the Corporation felt they had a chance. They eventually woke up late in the opening frame and were in full force by the second rebounding with five unanswered goals. D.Ramada opened the scoring while setting up G.DeMarinis's first of two in the contest. The game was eventually tied and appeared to be headed for shootouts until P.Santullo decided otherwise. The clutch forward also buried his second to snap the 4-4 tie leaving only 15 seconds on the clock. Normally, that kind of momentum tends to continue on, and despite grabbing a 2-0 lead, the Corporation got a rude awakening. This time it was the Walking Tall returning the favor. After cutting the lead in half by the first period, the flood gates opened by the second with four straight tallies going in. D-O Trinque had two goals and M.Ethier got rewarded the winner while F.Gaudet-Peloquin split the decision between the pipes with his counterpart S.Morante.

Underdogs take final stretch for granted

Everything seemed to be going extremely fine for the Underdogs, at least for most of the night. They out played and out worked the 1 Timer in the first encounter that finished in a 5-2 result. During that time, A.Zarzour and N.Zahabi each scored twice with all four goals coming by the second period. With that game out of the way, the winning side wasn't letting up and it showed immediately as they bagged five first period goals for a 5-3 lead. It seemed evident by that point that the Underdogs were well on their way to collecting two straight wins. However, it wasn't the case, and for whatever reason they just fell apart. Maybe it's because the 1 Timer had nothing to lose and gave it their all in hopes of escaping with a positive result. Already with a pair of goals, L-F Maxime was the catalyst behind the comeback. The 1 Timer added the skilled forward on this night, who made an immediate impact riffling two goals in only five minutes to complete his hat trick and give his club a 6-5 lead. Then, only a minute later, K.Gagne widened the margin by two which proved to be significant as it held up for the winner.

Captain D.Roy takes matters into own hands to even the score

Limited to only one late goal in the opening contest, the Rebels fell short in their 2-1 loss versus the Jokers. G.Botis and A.Giorgios each scored three minutes apart and D.Nespa saw his shutout taken away with only 15 seconds left on the clock. The Jokers looked to carry their solid defensive game into the next match but found themselves drifting away-from the game plan. They played a solid first period with the game leveled at two goals apiece but were nowhere to be found by the second frame where the Rebels emerged with four unanswered goals. During that span, D.Roy made the difference posting two quick markers to complete his hat trick as part of a four point performance. A.Dupuis chipped in as well with three points, and P.Boucher had an overall solid outing allowing only four goals in both games.
