A.Dayan, C.Paoud & S-A Longo a real handful for the 1 Timer
The clicking trio between A.Dayan, C.Paoud and S-A Longo caused plenty of fits for the 1 Timer in both games. Stopping them required more than just a short staff-from the 1 Timer. After taking the opening contest 3-1, the second match was slightly closer with the Jokers edging them out 4-3. In both games, the Jokers used solid first periods with three quick goals to take immediate control. Even though they scored only seven total goals, A.Dayan, C.Paoud and S-A Longo combined for an impressive thirteen points. As dominant as those three were on the court for the entire night, the same could be said for T.Daigneault and C-T Perrault. The 1 Timer saw both players do most of the damage with Daigneault striking three times while Perrault collected a goal and two helpers.

Degenerates grind out tough win with late push
It would have been a tall order for the Degenerates to take a pair of wins against the Mighty Drunks. And after dropping a fairly close 3-1 contest, the Degenerates gave it all in the second match to even the score. Every single player stuck to a simple game plan to cover their man the whole way through. By applying that kind of pressure, the opportunities would come with the biggest one late in the second game. There was just under a minute left when S.Marricco picked up a rebound with three straight swipes that finally went through M.Melo. On the large part, the Mighty Drunks had major ball possession but struggled to find enough space to create chances. Adding to that, it didn't help that P.Assadi was solid in net stopping 18 of 20 shots.

Far-from convincing, Hustlers have their hand full vs Rebels
Nothing came easy for the Hustlers in both games versus the Rebels. They had a very hard time disposing a tough opponent needing a late miracle in the first game along with a full out effort by the second. Just over a minute was all that was left when E.Girouard tied the game for the Hustlers. Then, with both sides sending three players for the shootout, E.Girouard put the final nail right after A.Stamiris got the better of P.Boucher. Still, the night wasn't over and the Hustlers had the same difficulty against a side that refused to quit. The Rebels, on three power play opportunities, capitalized every time that pulled them within one with only 90 seconds remaining. If not for a late brilliant save in the dying moments of the game, this contest was headed for another shootout. Instead, M.Dagenais remained alert and the Hustlers barely hung on to a second nail biter.

Underdogs down Immigrant twice in shootout
Both games had similar storylines. The first one saw the Underdogs overcome a 2-0 deficit with a late response while the second contest had Les Immigrant return the favour with a buzzer beating goal to send the games into a shootout. With their captain J.Constantin collecting two points, the opportunity was given for A.Zarzour to strike as the only Underdog in the first shootout encounter. The Underdogs used their strong finish into the second game where they benefited with three power play goals only to see it vanish into thin air. There was just over three minutes remaining for les Immigrant to reply with two late goals. And after getting set up by A.Daghlian, Les Immigrant saw both A.Pederian and A.Saglam rescue their club late in the game. Unfortunately, they once again suffered the same fate. The Underdogs scored twice in the shootout courtesy of their captain J.Constantin and their specialist A.Zarzour.
