(7)The Peters vs HBHA(2) Game 1
The Peters strike first with dominant game 1 win over HBHA
The Peters jumped ahead in their opening game versus the HBHA on Friday night. While the game started close, a late second period power play goal helped the Peters pull away and win comfortably. The HBHA had missed on a golden chance to level the game at three goals apiece on their power play, instead J.Morina struck shorthanded creating a two goal gap heading into the third and final period. That goal clearly deflated the HBHA, who had no more bite in their game surrendering three more markers. Three players paired goals in the win coming-from R.Placentino, M.Crialese and by the captain J.Morina , who went on to add two assists.

C.Stavriadis helps HBHA bounce back to even the series
J.Kontitsis , C.Stavriadis and the rest of the HBHA remained cool after a forgettable defeat. Stavriadis made 31 saves, his captain J.Kontitsis opened and closed the scoring and the HBHA bounced right back into the series to force a mini game. The focus entering the contest was to pick one another up and play close as a team like they have been doing for the longest of time. The HBHA simply played to their strength that resulted in a perfect result. The Peters only got on board by the third period when the game was already put out of reach. Prior to that point, the HBHA scored three times while applying a determined man on man defensive style. With game three looming only minutes away, both sides took the time to analyse what was ahead of them knowing that it was now or never.

Quick start pays dividends, Peters pull away to glory
It seemed like the Peters had all the answers on what to do in a short period of time. After getting an early goal, every single player felt that they weren't going to be denied. Once again, J.Morina made an impact, this time scoring the Peters second and fourth goal of the game. At no point did the HBHA show any sort of push back. By giving up two early goals and an eventual power play marker, the writing was already on the wall. The victory capped a near perfect season for the Peters by not only finishing first in the regular season but by achieving their ultimate goal. The players felt throughout the season that this was a championship group, and by getting the final reward was just the icing on the cake. On behalf of Hockeyballe.com, congratulations go out to Johnny Morina and the Peters for capturing the Masters 35+ division.
The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Johnny Morina of the Peters. Being a captain bears lots of responsibly and decision making. J.Morina was influential in both games behind the bench and on the court where he collected a total of four goals and two assists to help carry his club to the finish line.
