(5)GK vs River Rats(3) Game 1
GK hold on to beat River Rats
In what was arguably the single best game of the season so far, the GK took it late in the contest to capture the win. There were breathtaking goals, plenty of scoring chances and heart stopping close calls in the final moments encased inside a breakneck pace sometimes seen at this level of a game. The River Rats, despite tying the game late courtesy of M.DeTorre found themselves immediately playing-from behind only seconds after the equalising goal. P.Genereaux came to rescue the GK right before J.Bradley secured all doubts. The win came with scoring efforts-from five different players while the River Rats saw M.Crialese do most of the damage with a pair of markers. The result may come as a disappointment, but the River Rats will look to take positives knowing that the game could have gone either way.
(0)River Rats vs GK(2) Game 2
Y.Labonte's third period goal secures Premier division title for GK
It was a third period goal-from Y.Labonte that propelled the Gk to a 2-0 victory over the River Rats. Prior to that moment, both sides had their fair share of chances and enough shots to crack the barrier. And with the urgency lying on the River Rats backs, they just couldn't get their first. Props go to the GK defence and goaltender for keeping a clean score sheet versus a lethal River Rats hockey team. It's not often the River Rats go empty handed in a hockey game. Once Labonte opened the scoring, the pressure fell on everyone's shoulders to answerer back. Unfortunately for the River Rats, they kept hitting a wall and never got to the GK's net minder. K.Kuczmarski set up Labonte's winner and J. Bradley summed up the series by feeding an empty cage. On behalf of Hockeyballe.com, congratulations go out to Dahn Nguyen and the rest of the GK for capturing the Premier division title.
