(7)Brewers vs Devil Dawgz(4)
R.Hagen six points help lead Brewers past Devil Dawgz
It's what came to be expected-from a team with only six players dressed, and that is the lack of will to compete for an entire hockey game. The Devil Dawgz gave it all for two frames but couldn't keep up in the end as the Brewers took command sparking three unanswered goals. Plenty of it had to do with R.Hagen taking charge setting up G.Lemaire while adding two straight as part of a six point performance. Normally, the Brewer s would find themselves struggling in the final stretch but not in this case. G.Platanitis picked up a nice early season win stopping eleven shots in the third period alone. The Devil Dawgz got most of their offense-from A.Jalilvand, who scored twice and N.Faria that collected three points.
(6)The Pillows vs The Family(4)
T.Settino saves best for last with two third period goals
Unable to contain a key component, the Family had the unfortunate fate of going up against a goal hungry T.Settino. The Pillows forward scored twice in the third period including the game winner to help lead his club by a resilient opponent. At times, both sides looked like they handled the ball like a hand grenade, but that's only because it's the first game of the season. The Pillows had the luxury of playing with the lead which forced the Family to open up and take chances for a response. Four different players found the back of the net in the loss that included a pair of helpers-from J.Iacampo and M.Sasso. Apart -from T.Settino's big third period, the Pillows also had J.Pizzuco provide a pair at key moments of the game.
The SalumiVino player of the night goes to R.Hagen of the Brewers. Still going strong, the cerebral forward made plenty happen accumulating an impressive six points to help lead his club past the Devil Dawgz.
