(3)Smooth Sailors vs Legends (4)
Solid all around effort helps the Legends get back on track
It's hard to call the fourth game of the regular season a must win, but this one was about as close as one can be. Fortunately, the Legends responded to the calls of a better effort and collected their first win of the season, a satisfying 4-3 triumph over last season's champions. S.Labrecque, M.Destounis and A.Jalilvand looked like they have been playing with each other for the longest time as all three players did their magic combining for six points. The game winner did however belong to the captain P.Santullo, who jumped on a loose ball for an easy goal. The Smooth Sailors were stuck playing a committed opponent that prioritised a man on man coverage making it very difficult for them to find open space. They did manage plenty of decent shots only to run into a hot net minder in S.Morante.
(3)United Arms Jr vs Underdogs (5)
Underdogs gut out victory over gritty United Arms Jr
The Underdogs had to battle a complete 45 minute game in order to earn a hard fought battle with the United Arms Jr. It's what comes to be expected when two hockey teams roll three complete lines. With that many bodies', coaches want to see nothing more than their players getting tired in a short period of time. And while the formula was in full throttle for the two sides, the United Arms Jr lacked in one area that perhaps made the difference between winning and losing. Too many trips to the penalty box didn't help their cause as the Underdogs made sure to take advantage twice with goals-from E.Salhany and J.Hassan. Still, the game was very much in reach for the United Arms Jr up until a two minute sequence in the third period where the Underdogs strung two quick goals. J.Hassan was the only player to score twice in the win as did H.Jerjian for the United Arms Jr.
(5)SBS Trashers vs Job on Demand(1)
Depleted Job in Demand lose to Trashers
They knew it was coming and there wasn't much they could have done about it. The Job on Demand were breathless and tired by the time they hit the third period giving up all hope by allowing four straight goals. P.Manousos, F.Gentile and J.Scalia went on a tear producing seven points together in the span of only seven minutes. Despite the bad ending, the Job on Demand didn't do themselves any favours early on where they gave up two power play goals. M.Gagnon was the only player to beat R.Pampena, who was stellar throughout the entire match.
The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Sandro Morante of the Legends. In hopes of re bounding his team into the win column, S.Morante came through pulling off a brilliant performance against an opponent with plenty of fire power.
