Chic Choc stop bleeding in second match after being crushed by 1 Timer

The Chic Choc couldn't wait long enough to close out their opening contest versus the 1 Timer. Clearly it was disappointing, frustrating and embarrassing losing by that many goals. P-A Surprenant feasted riffling three markers and two assists while K.Gagne was right behind him scoring twice as part of a four point performance. After suffering such a defeat, the Chic Choc weren't planning on going through that again. The second match resembled nothing compared to the first one. And even though they didn't come out on top, a tie was more than sufficient considering how poorly they played before that. M.Ethier bounced his club back collecting three points that included two goals. P.Mainville and Y.Bel Kasem shared three points each for the Chic Choc while M.Carpentier was once again dominant posting three tallies for the 1 Timer. Neither side had an edge in the shootouts as both teams traded one goal apiece.

Excalibur tweak their game to salvage a point with Ice Breakers

There was no doubt that the Excalibur came out ready to go in the second match, which at least led to a tie rather than a lopsided affair. They didn't get the right start but definitely a solid finish overcoming a 3-0 deficit. The Ice Breakers had all but 18 seconds to kill off and complete a perfect night. Instead, S.Ruggiero benefited after receiving a pass-from F.BcHara, and the Excalibur were able to force a shootout. Both sides were unable able to work their magic in the breakaways expect for the net minders. S.Sauk denied all three attempts for the Excalibur as did A.Zararian for the Ice Breakers. The first encounter was won easily by the Ice Breakers with H.Jerjian leading the way on three goals and an assist. Much of the ensuing match didn't slow down their top gun as Jergian continued his onslaught adding two more markers with the help of R.Yousefi, who collected three points. Except for the final frame, the Ice Breakers had a decent start to their season.

The Punishers send a message to the defending champs

In reigniting the fires of the rivalry, the Punishers sent a message to not only Venom but the entire division. This is a team that's able to beat you in any kind of way. While their power play doesn't seem to miss, playing with a man short is also a threat, especially when you have C.Gingras killing it. Venom missed out on a glorious chance to put themselves in front after being awarded a 5-3. And rather than seizing the opportunity, the opposite effect occurred. Once again, C.Gingras did his thing, cutting off a play while using his deceptive speed to take on a defenseman before putting it home on a swift wrist shot. By the time the night was over, C.Gingras racked up another six points including a devastating shorthand goal.

Orient bank points in a hard fought battle with Armadillos

The Orient's two victories this evening was exactly the type of effort they'll need to put forth in order to get some positive results. However, the Armadillos may look back at the opening contest where they gave up a shorthand goal that ultimately decided the outcome. B.Cabral was able to snap a 1-1 tie with a man short and B.Sieu added an insurance marker for his third point of the match. Unhappy with the way things ended, the Armadillos showed up right away in the next game jumping off to a 2-0 lead. The only problem was that they kept getting into trouble by visiting the penalty box. Clearly, there was no way that the Orient would miss out on their chances. F.Nasser and B.Sieu pounced on the opportunities and the game was now up for grabs for either team. Eventually, the tie was broken when the Orient struck with less than four minutes remaining.
