Legacy finding ways to win

It was a very successful night for Legacy as they were able to defeat the 1 Timer both times. And although the results came in, Legacy didn't really have their best games. The 1 Timer looked hungrier and used their speed that caused plenty of fits to the defense and F.Baratta between the pipes. Fortunately enough, A.Stamiris bailed them out in the first contest on two wrist shots that had enough torque and speed to beat F.Koch. With that game out of the way, the 1 Timer were able to put it behind them quickly and jumped to a perfect start on two quick goals. However, it took only 19 seconds towards the end of the first period for Legacy to respond on two quick goals of their own. K.Kavan had set up both markers before adding two for him in the ensuing frame. Both these results came as an example of how very good teams find ways to win.

Ice Breakers surge in only 2 minutes to split with Excalibur

A two minute scoring spree was all the Ice Breakers needed in order to trade wins with the Excalibur on Monday night. After dropping a close 2-1 game, and after falling behind early in the second match, N.Merrachi, M.Boghossian and G.Miville-Goulet each scored in that very short span to put their club in the drivers seat. The Excalibur found it extremely difficult at that point to get back into it, especially against a team that doesn't stop running while continuously pressuring you with the ball. Luckily enough, they got the first one in the bag, and in large part due to S.Sauk, who allowed only one goal on 20 shots. S.Ruggiero bagged the winner while J.Azoulay and A.Fonrose collected two points each.

Degenerates commit to a pair of perfect games vs Chic Choc

It was a night that the Degenerates could do no wrong. Throughout the entire four periods, every single player committed to doing their part. The offense connected, the defense was sound, and J.Atch was nearly flawless except for one time when J-R Lemay finally beat him. Prior to tonight's games, the Degenerates haven't been at their best whatsoever riding a very long inconsistent rough patch. But, sometimes it takes a couple of games to regain some confidence as teams often go through adversity. These wins came at a very good time in the season with the playoffs looming just around the corner. S.Marricco had the most with a total of three goals, but more importantly, the team gelled playing their best games yet.

P.Lapointe and Armadillos find answers in second encounter

The Armadillos made sure to put out a better effort in the second game as anything less just wouldn't cut it for J.Kontitsis. The Dragons took the first encounter owning the second frame on three unanswered goals. B.Daniele notched two out of the three tallies that came in a very short span. Unhappy with the way things ended, the second game was a complete turn of events for the Armadillos. Clearly, they were more energized and fully awake wanting nothing less than to avoid a second straight let down. Leading the way up front was P.Lapointe, who scored twice in the first period as part of a four goal performance. This time, the Armadillos put themselves in a position to play with the lead where the Dragons just didn't have the answers to make a game of it.

The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Pat Lapointe of the Armadillos. After surrendering the first game to the Dragons, the Armadillos needed a spark in their second encounter. P.Lapointe provided it by striking four times to finish off on a high note.

Armadillos save their best for last for a second straight night

Finding itself in trouble again early on, the Armadillos had to wait once more for their second encounter to even the score with the Orient. The Orient knew they had the game in their hands after a solid opening frame where they built a 3-1 lead. J.Mavuanga did not score but was responsible for making three goals happen. The winner came on a power play chance courtesy of B.Cabral. It was only a day ago that the Armadillos found themselves in a similar position. They dropped their opener but managed to respond and leave with some points to the standings. Tonight was a near carbon copy as M.Pololos made the best of his chances scoring twice that included the winner.

Punishers use one good period in split with Legacy

For about three full periods, the Punishers were completely outplayed by Legacy. It was a lopsided first game that you usually see at a pee wee level. K.Kavan looked like he was playing pond hockey and did pretty much what he wanted striking five times while setting up Y.Derohannessian, who bagged a pair. Yes, they overmatched them in the first game but the Punishers weren't planning on embarrassing themselves for second time. And although it wasn't as convincing, they did manage to return the favor by capturing the win. However, it took the last two minutes of the game for the order to come in. Legacy was riding a slight 2-1 lead until two very late goals flipped the script. T.Karvouriaris tied it right before A.Sarigiannis gave the Punishers its first lead of the night.
