Left Wings bring best game, get back into series

The Left Wings got back to playing to their strengths on Wednesday night, bouncing back-from an opening series loss to defeat the Wocafloka 5-1 and square their playoff series 1-1.The Left Wings limited their turnovers and rediscovered their scoring touch in this game after being outworked and outplayed by the same 5-1 score only a week ago. Scoring efforts came by committee as five different players took turns finding the net. S.Vassilopoulos was stellar in game two allowing only one goal on 20 shots. Wocafloka , although fell behind 2-0, did narrow the gap early in the second period but were unable to build it more than that. It was apparent that the Left Wings had more urgency compared to their opponent which set up the stage for a do or die mini game.

Captain J-M Loiseau shows why he's the pride of Wocafloka

There was no way the captain of Wocafloka was stopping after a lopsided defeat only moment's ago. Even though his entire team looked out of gas, everyone had at least one period of enough fuel in the tank to compete with the Left Wings. And who better than your captain to lead the way.After setting up A.Fonrose for the games opening goal, J-M Loiseau was able to snap a 1-1 tie with just over six minutes to go. In playoff hockey, six minutes feels like an eternity but the Wocafloka made sure to stay with it playing a solid defensive game while relying heavily on C.Stavriadis on their last line of defence. They managed to kill off the clock and secure a spot in the final when F.Belisle fed a yawning cage.

Fat Roy sweep division leaders to reach final

The game, and by extension the series, might have been over by the ten minute mark of the second period when N.Gikas scored on the power play for a 4-1 lead. J.Sanoudakis has been good enough that a three goal cushion was sufficient for the eventual victory. Fat Roy saw all their top guys get involved on the score sheet. K.Fiore, N.Gikas and M.Tvaronas all had two goals each. The Fatal Demons couldn't match the pace of Fat Roy and never had the chance to play with the lead where they tend to play better when in control of the game. The win sends Fat Roy through to the final where they'll take on Wocafloka.

The SalumiVino player of the night goes to J-M Loiseau of Wocafloka. After his team took it the chin versus the Left Wings, the captain made sure to not go down without a fight by responding with a huge performance in game three.

The E Wednesday division will have Wocafloka take on Fat Roy in the final. Both teams appear well matched-skilled teams that can push the pace and flip games with offensive outbursts. Since offense and solid goaltending may be a wash, Fat Roy may benefit due to their body count in what may be a long series. But that's not to take away the resilient play of Wocafloka, who'll battle till the very end.
