Buckshots recover with four points after blowing three & four goal leads

After M.Destounis gave the Buckshots a commanding 5-1 lead mid way through the last period of the second game, the Buckshots went into prevent mode, dropped back and let the Assadi Consulting Inc. take it to them, scoring four consecutive goals in only two and a half minutes. The game remained tied but the Buckshots had just squandered another massive lead like they did in the earlier match despite winning it anyway. Both sides had moments looking like they were in a league of their own ,and sometimes looking like they were disinterested in playing a full consistent game. The goaltenders were unfortunately stuck paying the price in the end. As bad as it was at times, P.Assadi and the Assadi Consulting Inc will be glad to have taken a point out of a possible six. The Buckshots were clearly the better team and have only themselves to blame for squandering two leads that should have led to a pair of victories.

Brewers bounce back after slow start to their season

The Brewers wanted to answer with authority, guts and tenacity and they did all that against the Knights coming off that debacle only a week ago. But things weren’t going to come easy as both sides battled through two very close games. In a rare case, A.Petuzzielo got credited the winner in the first encounter on an empty net goal. The second game seemed to be going the Brewers way after grabbing an early 2-0 lead and an eventual 3-2 lead. However, that didn’t stop the Knights-from fighting back and tying the game on a late power play marker by A.Fonrose. The only thing that was left to settle-from that point on was a dreaded shootout. A.Papazian and A.Petuzzielo came through to help the Brewers put a pair of wins together by getting the better of S.Sauk. It looks like the Brewers captain still has plenty in him. A.Lanni keeps showing that he hasn’t missed a beat as the pesky forward capped off a productive night with three goals and an assist.

Fatal Demons save their best for last in split with Horsemen

For well over three periods, the Fatal Demons didn’t know what it felt like to score a single goal. Then, once G.DeMarinis finally cracked the barrier, the flood gates opened and the Fatal Demons snuck the rug-from under the Horsemen’s feet en route to a comeback victory. F.Benhamadi put together two very quick goals, both coming with the help of DeMarinis. The Horsemen will be wondering what went wrong after doing almost everything right for the longest time. After all, they played a sound opening game with C.Stavriadis stealing the show in net for a 23 save shutout. Much of the second encounter resembled the first one with Horsemen playing out in front courtesy of a 2-0 lead. J-K Cazeneuve had just scored the Horsemen’s third of four goals, and Stavriadis must have been thinking of a back to back shutout performance for how well things were going. But somehow the Horsemen may have let their guard down and the Fatal Demons pounced on them like vultures on a dead carcass. That sequence was so short, but enough to flip the script and draw the night even for the two sides.

The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Anthony Lanni of the Brewers. Unhappy with the way things transpired only a week ago, the Brewers captain led by example posting three very big goals that enabled his club to pull out a pair of wins.
