Fatal Demons avoid first round acquiring one single point vs Brewers
All they needed and aimed for was to get one point in order to clinch a first round bye. The Fatal Demons felt that it wasn’t a matter of if but when. However, after dropping the first game and then falling behind 2-0 in the second match, things started to look grim for the Fatal Demons. That was up until they put their act together notching two quick goals by P.Paikopoulos and F.Benhamadi. Fifty second was all it took for the Fatal Demons to turn it around and force the game into a shootout. They didn’t do much in the end but managed to get that odd point. The Brewers on the other hand played with a different goal in mind, and that was to simply prepare for next weeks playoffs. T.Fernando led the way in the first encounter producing three points en route to a 4-2 victory. Both teams later settled for a draw after trading two goals each in the shootouts.

Knights finish strong to trade wins with Horsemen
After getting outplayed for much of the first game, the Knights were able to dig deep and respond with a lot more life in the ensuing match. They went-from being shutout to bagging four goals before taking it in the shootouts. Sometimes it takes a little spark, whether it’s a big save or a timely goal. And since the Knights couldn’t get on board earlier on, M.Dupuis eventually provided that spark early in the second game to get the ball rolling. Dupuis went on to set up two teammates while P.Karigiannis came up big tying the game with less than five minutes remaining. From-there, both sides went the extra mile where the Knights had the satisfaction of edging the Horsemen in the shootouts.

Family searching for answers after disappointing night
The Brewers remained dominant versus the Family despite playing earlier vs the Fatal Demons. Normally, teams tend to come out sluggish but that clearly wasn’t the case as they blanked the Family 4-0. A.Angelis sparked his club with two first period goals and M.Gratton was stellar stopping every ball his way. Things did open up a lot more in the second game with the Family finding their scoring touch. The problem however was on the other side of the court. Its never a good habit when you give up as many goals as the Family did, especially a week prior to the playoffs. They know that in order to succeed in the playoffs, a structured defensive game will be required. Tonight showed no indication of it, but it doesn’t mean that M.Freda wont have enough time to address it. The Family have shown their ups and downs this season, and depending on how they approach their next challenge, nobody will really know what to expect-from them.

The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Vinko Pandza of the Horsemen. Its always a good thing when your captain sets the example at an important time during the season. V.Pandza elevated his game producing six out of a possible seven points for the Horsemen.
The Thursday night division regular season came to an end. The first two seeds with get an automatic pass to the semi finals. The first round match ups are as follows:
(3)Assadi Consulting Inc vs The Family(6) The Family has no choice to tighten up against a team that can score. If they can some how slow the game down and patiently wait for their chances, than an upset wont be so surprising.
(4)Brewers vs Horsemen(5) Both these teams have enough strengths to prevail. Like in most cases when two evenly matched teams meet, limiting mistakes plays a big role along with a little bit of luck. This one is a toss up.
