Classics maintain status as Champions of 4vs4 first division

Never losing when hitting the big stage, the Classics have one of the deepest rosters constructed, and can easily be considered a dynasty in the Monday 4vs4 top division. How deep ? P.Karvourias scored four goals in game one, D.Koutavas took charge in game two bagging a hat trick, and of coarse C.Gingras the catalyst behind it all setting up a total of seven goals. Add to the fact that C.Ekonomakis was there to stop a very lethal offense limiting the Dragons to only three goals. It was to much for the Dragons to handle despite having a complete roster to do so. There is no question it was a disappointing end for a team that seemingly had put all the right pieces together. The Classics were able to get here because they are a true championship threat. Star power up front? Check. Solid supporting cast that supports the ball on both ends of the court? Check. Strong special teams most definitely when you have P.Karvourias and C.Gingras out performing their opponents power play. Yup. All of that is scary, and than you add C.Ekonomakis there to making the big saves, you have an unbelievable line up that will bring you all the way. There bag of tricks was seemingly bottomless. They’ll find ways to beat teams in a variety of ways. They could out-skill and out score you. They could out-grind and out-defend you. They could out-goalie you. There were times when teams managed to play the exact game they wanted, and it didn’t even matter because the Classics had the tools to do it better. When it comes to dynasties, the Classics are working on a convincing case. While all the DNA make up is impressive for what they have shown, none of it matters if you don’t have a leader to put it all together. Pat Santullo is the head of operations for putting an incredible group of players together, and deserves full marks for what the Classics have achieved until now. The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Carl Gingras of the Classics. No matter how many hockey experts you get to write out a game plan on trying to slow down Cingras, you might as well rip the paper apart and throw it in the garbage. Nothing works against a guy that decides to turn up his game and deliver when the time is right. In the most important night of the season, C.Gingras created seven goals because of his skill and vision put together.
