M.Lafleur 4 goals powers Senators over Hurricanes

Senators forward M.Lafleur produced a game winning performance against the Hurricanes on Wednesday night, turning a tied game into a comfortable 7-3 lead with four straight tallies. The tie was broken with M.lafleur using his patented release on a penalty shot. That was the beginning of the end for the Hurricanes, who simply got beaten by one player surrounded by a solid supporting cast. They never had the chance to adapt and prevent M.Lafleur-from shooting the ball. His power and precise shot got the better of the Hurricanes net minder on four occasions. While he was no question the catalyst behind the end result, the Senators did have M.Lauzon and F.Decoster produce also as the two players combined for seven points. The Hurricanes had a decent start to the game scoring three times in the first twenty minutes. It was-from that point on that the contest shifted in one direction with the Senators taking over on four unanswered goals. S.Sauk went through almost thirty minutes without conceding a tally to frustrate an attack that couldn’t figure him out anymore.

The Allo Mon  Coco Ste-Dorothee player of the game goes to Mathieu Lafleur of the Senators. With the game levelled at three goals apiece, the sniper went on a barrage bagging four unanswered goals.

The Oilers might have had a chance if not been for their painfully bad start to the game. They looked miserably flat footed-from the start allowing five consecutive goals in the first seventeen minutes alone. The Ducks were clearly ready and caught the Oilers off guard getting a pair of tallies by D.Galloro along with some balanced scoring. It almost appeared that the Ducks were going to blow out the Oilers in a very lopsided tilt. Instead, things started to settle down offensively as the two net minders took over the show keeping the score at bay. With only one goal to show for after 33 minutes, the Oilers started to catch some breaks in the latter stages scoring three times to at least keep the score very respectable. They would often create odd man rushes simply because they were in search of trying to score while the Ducks didn’t have the urgency of keeping their unit on the defensive side of the court. At one point, the Ducks felt they had to adjust their game better without the ball for how much pressure the Oilers were putting on. Once they stuck to that formula, it became a question of just riding out the clock. Sometimes teams get caught off trying to keep good habits going. D.Galloro had a monster game controlling much of the play-from the back end collecting a few points. E.Charbonneau provided a huge penalty shot goal for the Ducks while T.Sauk was sound in net to earn a well deserved win.

The Allo Mon Coco Ste-Dorothee player of the game goes to Danny Galloro of the Ducks. If you wanted a nice pass, a precise shot on net, a few dazzling moves along with the ability to read and break up plays, D.Galloro did all that for the Ducks, and was a big reason why they got a positive result.

Golden Knights roar in second portion to top Stars

It was a case where one team continued playing while the other found themselves a step behind. The first half didn’t really indicate where this contest was headed. The two sides traded about the same scoring chances and shots on net, and the score was slightly favouring the Golden Knights. Then, the wheels fell off for the Stars and the Golden Knights went on a complete take over scoring a ton of goals at will. No matter how much the Stars tried to defend well, the Golden Knights had to many weapons to their disposal which translated into a barrage of goals. Of coarse T.Settino had his hand in it, but it wasn’t only the skilled forward that made a mess up front. Other notables include players such as T.Nardelli and L.Bucci with both players collecting five points each while J.Pizzuco and S.Sicuso did a fine job in the back end combining for seven points. The Golden Knights happened to floor a very nice roster on Wednesday night with the replacement of some vital pieces. They had two strong lines that gelled right away. Even though the final score suggests two unbalanced teams, that couldn’t be further-from the case. The Stars were missing a key element in M.Braun which would have made a difference if he was there to play with B.Sorice. Since its only regular season, this wont mean much if you are the Stars.

The Allo Mon Coco Ste-Dorothee player of the game goes to Larry Bucci of the Golden Knights. Every so often, L.Bucci will put up the numbers. In tonight’s high scoring tilt, the forward was highly involved scoring once while setting up four teammates.
