Generals keep the good times rolling

To say that the Generals are rolling is an understatement. They didn’t quite get that fierce start leading only 1-0 in the first period, but that eventually changed in the second frame where they were at their best posting four markers. Goals came by committee with five different players finding the back of the net. For over half the game, M.Gagnon didn’t concede a tally until T.Michalidis finally got to him. The Brewers knew the task ahead was perhaps unattainable to try and overcome a deep hole. However, they didn’t throw in the towel, and kept battling to keep the game very respectable. Both sides traded two goals by the third period where M.Pinheiro struck twice to complete his hat trick for the Generals.

D.Galloro is such a gifted passer, he looks to set up his teammates for goals. He can shoot, too, and he came through in a prime situation. Galloro scored a power play goal in overtime, and the Chiefs edged out the Warriors after a hard fought battle. Many Chiefs players felt good that it would come- from their captain to close out the deal with plenty of minutes to do so with the man advantage.  Before the overtime goal, the Chiefs had some late chances unable to beat C.Araujo, who like his counter part P.Delli Colli kept their clubs in it. The two goaltenders were the reason why both teams reached the sudden death frame. The Chiefs were always seeking to increase their lead by two after being ahead three times only to get a response by the Warriors. Resilience was a big part of it as the Warriors kept battling back while looking like the better of the two sides for some long stretches. Sometimes a team is forced to conserve some energy since they don’t have the man power to play with stamina. That was the case for the Chiefs, who had to time their runs and use their energy accordingly.

After dropping their earlier contest with the Generals, the Brewers appeared to have the answers going up against a fresher team despite being down 1-0. They showed a lot of character by just staying with it as it showed by the second period where they completely took over the match. J.Tzanetakos ,M.DelGaudio and P.Karigiannis all scored, and the Brewers made sure to preserve that lead against a depleted line up. The United Masters are trying to rely on a short bench which usually isn’t the way to go. Although they kept it close when D.Charbonneau pulled his club within one early in the third period, it just wasn’t enough trying to challenge a hungrier opponent. The Brewers wanted nothing less than to make sure and walk away with the win. J.Martuccio almost immediately regained a two goal lead for the Brewers right before J.Tzanetakos buried his second for insurance.

The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Danny Galloro of the Chiefs. In a very  close encounter with the Warriors, the Chiefs captain was able to decide it on his patented slap shot-from the point.
