D.Seguin hot stick snaps two late ties against Brodie Boys

There was no question that the Brodie Boys could have taken at least one or if not both games versus the Kings on Monday night. They were competitive, intense and played to their liking only to find themselves on the short end of the stick. Since both teams are similar in the way they play the game, the Kings were the ones that found a way to win. Strong teams will defend well, and hound their opponents when trying to recuperate the ball. The two results ended in a similar fashion with the Kings breaking a pair of 2-2 ties towards the ladder stages of the game. The first encounter saw D.Seguin complete a perfect passing play-from D.Lombardi and N.Francis while in the second encounter, the very same D.Seguin was credited the winner after snapping another 2-2 tie. If the Brodie Boys were to take a step back and address one area of their game plan, it would be perhaps a formula to try and slow down D.Lombardi. The Kings scored a total of seven goals in both matches that saw the power forward create most of the offense accumulating six points.  Another point worth mentioning is how solid the goaltending was. Any average net minder would not be able to keep it respectable. D.Delaronde did edge out his counter part C.Ekonomakis, who was equally brilliant in net giving his side a legit chance to win.

Snipers speed to much for the Mighty Pooches to handle

If a team owns every category of a game, than lopsided scores are to be expected. The Mighty Pooches couldn’t really match the speed of a very fast Snipers team which only makes you play on your heels throughout most of the night. And when a team controls the ball that long, its inevitable that the goals will start going in. Adding to that, players will get discouraged knowing that there isn’t much hope after trailing by a reasonable margin. The Snipers scored the same amount of goals in each period of both games. After riding a 4-0 lead heading into the second period, the Snipers capped off two 7-0 victories to claim some easing points to the standings. N.Atoui and H.Awada shared two goals each in the first game while the captain Ali Khanafer cashed in three times for a hat trick in the second match. He wasn’t overly busy , but M.St-Laurent did go flawless earning two shutouts.

Degenerates respond with purpose after dropping tight contest with Country Club

Just when the Degenerates thought things would turn around, the Country Club shut out the fire. D.Galloro couldn’t have picked a more precise top corner to put the Degenerates in front for the first time early in the second period. It looked like momentum was going to catch fire for a team that appeared to be doing almost everything right. Then, about two minutes later, M-A Savaria and N.Smith tallied twenty second apart, and the Degenerates found themselves chasing the game instead. Even with more than enough time to bounce back, the Country Club played it right by closing the lanes and shortening the gaps. With that limited space, M.Dupuis had to face limited shots, but still enough quality chances to close out a very close 3-2 decision. It was clear that the Degenerates weren’t pleased for how things ended. When teams play well enough to win and don’t get the result, they usually respond in a more urgent manner. That was clearly the case when P.Stroubakis used a very hard shot to beat M.Dupuis. Now that they got that important start, the Degenerates looked to double their lead in order to gain more control of the game. Eventually, the two goal margin came by the very same P.Stroubakis at the end of the period. Even though it was still a slight 2-0 lead ,the Degenerates weren’t letting this one slip away. They made sure to press and keep control of the ball for as long as possible which eventually translated into a pair of insurance markers by A.Lamont and P.Paikaopoulos.
