It took a while but the Armadillos can finally turn up the victory music
(3)Armadillos vs Altius(1)
Losing is merely hard to take, and the Armadillos were fed up of not having at least one win under their belt. That finally changed on Wednesday night after taking on the Altius. For how the game went, it showed that it wasn’t going to come easy no matter how dominant the Armadillos were on their ball possession. They controlled most of the play only to be dead even heading into the final period. Finally, they caught a break when J.Chiropoulos broke a 1-1 tie. Still, the game was nowhere close-from being over, and the Altius knew that they were only one shot on net-from tying the game. Unable to get that equaliser with C.Stavriadis protecting his net, K.Kuczmarski scored instead for the Armadillos notching his second to give enough breathing room with little time left over. Finally, the Armadillos ended a streak that they aren’t used to. That being said, they could have won some of their previous encounters. But they were tenacious on Wednesday night, and overdue whatever bounces went their way. And the only thing that really matters after dropping every game so far is getting a win.
Punishers pull away in second portion to remain hot
(7)Punishers vs Assadi Consulting inc(1)
The Assadi Consulting inc didn’t mind playing a close low scoring game versus the Punishers. And for a large part, they kept it that way as long as they could with the game tied 1-1 . Then, the Punishers decided to flip the switch posting three quick goals out of nowhere to end the second period on a high note. A.Sarigiannis tallied twice while T.Karvouriaris riffled a power play marker. You almost have no margin of error going up against a team that can score at will. No matter how cautious and hard the Assadi Consulting inc approached this contest, it still wasn’t nearly enough. Its not like the effort wasn’t there. The problem is that unless you can bury your chances its almost inevitable that the Punishers wont miss their opportunities. C.Gingras and P.Karvouriaris are proof of that as both players have shown that they will put up the points on a regular and consistent basis. Tonight, the two scored a pair of goals each looking like an average night for their standards. And that’s not to take away-from a strong supporting cast of players such as M.Mavroudis and C.Kakivelis as both players contributed collecting three points each. Right now, the Punishers own every area of the court starting with their goaltender C.Ekonomakis, who is very difficult to beat, a sound defense that doesn’t give much, and a lethal offense that seems to be uncontainable.
The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Kevin Kuczmarski of the Armadillos. With the help of his two big goals in a low scoring 3-1 decision, the Armadillos put an end to an ugly start by finally getting in the win column.
