Brewers and Warriors set to play for their playoff lives

They almost really had no choice but to pull this one off against the Warriors if they planned to stay in contention for a playoff spot. With only three games left in the regular season, the Brewers had to get that first one under their belt. As expected, the game wasn’t going to be decided until the very last play of the game. The Warriors threw everything they could in hopes of tying the match only to be denied . E.Bouchard was the unlikely hero in this one posting two goals that included the winner. The Brewers had their best moment in the second period where they rattled off three tallies in only six minutes. M.DelGaudio was also a main gun as the power forward scored once while setting up Bouchard’s winner. This result moves the Brewers up three points where they are presently deadlocked with the Warriors. Since they both play again on this same night, the Brewers will have a golden chance to find themselves in rather than looking-from the outside.

Generals forced to work hard in order to down a depleted United Maters side

You normally don’t find a good reason to justify a loss, but the United Masters will look back at this game versus the Generals as a moral victory. And why not when flooring a depleted line up versus an offensive juggernaut like the Generals. If not for same bad timing, the United Masters may have even pulled this one off. They led by a pair until V.Lamarche scored very late in the second period to lead 4-3.For two straight periods, the United Masters kept the Generals in check making it very difficult for them to find any room. Adding to that, S.Pistone was there to deliver a sound goaltending performance. But there is only so much a team can do, and the United Masters spent all their energy trying to compete with a superior opponent. Eventually, the flood gates started to open by the third period where the Generals took over on four tallies. R.Morne opened the scoring before adding two more by the final frame to earn a hat trick. He may not have reached his standards of how many goes he could score, but O.Valiquette took a different role setting up four teammates while netting his clubs second tally. On the flip side of the court, D.Charbonneau did turn some heads as the natural defenseman showed that he can play the forward position just as well if not better by bagging a hat trick. A.Minassian also chipped in with a pair while N.Katsifolis collected three assists.

Momentum may have played a factor in tonight’s mini series between the Brewers and the Warriors. Since the Brewers came off a must win in the earlier contest, the will and desire to win translated almost immediately in this particular game. The Brewers came out with purpose grabbing a strangle hold on the match thanks to a big opening period by M.DelGaudio. His two goals helped pave the way to a clear path for a potential victory. E.Bouchard increased the lead with a lone second period goal, and the Brewers appeared to be headed for an easy three points to the standings. Up until that point, the Warriors couldn’t get anything going with C.Stavriadis being in the way. The net minder understood what was at steak and delivered a flawless performance. That being said, sometimes it comes down to breaking the ice only once to turn the tides. The Warriors felt they needed just one for them to get back into the game. Finally that tally came early in the third period courtesy of R.Branchaud. Now that they got the monkey off their back, the Warriors fuelled off their momentum with J.Porco converting on two occasions that would ended tying the game. Out of nowhere, this contest flipped on its head with the Warriors saving their best for last. After riding three unanswered goals heading into overtime in what is coming down to crucial points, you would have to assume that the Warriors would have gotten the final word. Instead, it was M.DelGaudio again haunting his opponent as the power forward came through at a time of need notching his third to recover-from a third period disaster.

Fatigue catches up to the United Masters by the third in loss to Chiefs

It was maybe just a matter of time before the United Masters lost fuel in their tank. They just came off a hard nosed battle with the Generals, and hung in there for quite some time with the Chiefs until the final stretch. A slight 4-3 third period lead only widened passed the mid way point of the third period when J.Choudhry captured his hat trick followed with A.Zarzour and D.Galloro providing some insurance. Prior to the last frame, the United Masters applied a strong game plan keeping the Chiefs to the outside for as long as they can before falling a step behind. The Chiefs looked like the quicker side as they kept moving and opening up to create enough lanes that resulted into some decent scoring chances. D.Galloro carried a major part of the offense as the captain participated in six of the seven goals that included five assists. The win solidifies a second place finish in the standings for the Chiefs where they’ll need to wait and see who their eventual first round opponent will be.

The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Marco DelGaudio of the Brewers. In two very important games, M.DelGaudio was influential collecting a total of five points that included a hat trick.
