Team Blue battle, but fall to Team Yellow

For a very good portion of the game, Team Blue went toe-to-toe with Team Yellow, but were unable to overcome their slight deficit ultimately falling on the short end of the stick. Goals by R.Beaupre and A.Zarkarian set the tone right away for Team Yellow as they managed to keep their lead the rest of the way despite some push back . R.Beaupre was able to provide another big goal to create a reasonable four goal gap with only six minutes left in the game. Winning these types of game, you need to be successful in bottling up your opponents offense while creating your own. Team Yellow did a fine job on both ends of the court while getting solid goaltending as well. B.Mourad delivered a strong performance keeping Team Blue to limited amount of goals. The contest was already put to rest despite Team Blue striking twice in the final minute.

The Allo Mon Coco player of the game goes to Brian Mourad of Team Yellow. Sometimes when a game remains fairly close, its because often enough your goaltender keeps it that way. B.Mourad was stellar and consistent the whole way through which helped Team Yellow get the better of Team Blue.

Team Green fall apart versus Team White, Martin Dagenais bags early hat trick

The word disastrous came as understatement for Team Green , who were absolutely man handled in only ten minutes of play. The lack of mental discipline saw Team Green give up seven goals in a fairly short period of time. That’s what happens when your defensive game is swiss cheese resulting in forcing plays that weren’t there while blindly throwing the ball up the middle. Team White got their strong start-from an unlikely hero when it comes to scoring goals. M.Dagenias does an excellent job preventing them-from going in, but tonight he showed another side of his game as the solid d-man ran up the score early on posting a hat trick by the twenty minute mark. It just seemed like there was nothing that Team Green could have done to stop the bleeding. Team White worked harder on the fore check, exploited some poor defensive coverage, and benefited nearly every time they had a chance. No doubt it was just a terrible ten minutes of hockey for a team that should have done better. Apart-from M.Dagenais making some serious noise early on, Team White got balanced production throughout their entire line up.

The Allo Mon Coco player of the game goes to Martin Dagenais of Team White. You wouldn’t have expected it, and Martin Dagenais would agree as well that he would be the one to set the offensive tone on a very early hat trick.

Team Brown triumph in back and forth action with Team Purple

Defense proved to be optional in Sunday nights match up between Team Purple and Team Brown. Both sides combined for a whopping seventeen goals, and Team Brown were able to get the last laugh on a very strong finish. It was one of those games that needed the entire time in order to know who would prevail. Goals kept coming at a rapid rate, and neither side was really in control of the situation. The only time that there was some separation was toward the end with Team Brown closing out the deal on three late tallies. C.Nguyen, T.Settino and M.Estrela all scored in the final five minutes to give their side that edge. Prior to the late surge, the game kept going back and forth. D.Galloro was able to break a crucial 6-6 tie that kept Team Purple scoreless until it was too late. There was no question that the goaltenders didn’t quite get that support they hoped for. However, since the two sides decided to open up, your goaltender still needs to be a factor since every shot on net will count. For Team Brown, G.Platanitis came through making a few extra key saves in order to squeeze out a barn burner.

The Allo Mon Coco player of the game goes to Celia Nguyen of Team Brown. There was no denying that every time C.Nguyen touched the ball that something would happen. Team Brown went on to win a high scoring affair with the help of C.Nguyen’s six points that included a hat trick.

Team Orange needing a week to reflect on what went wrong

It went without saying that Team Orange got rattled early on in what ended up being a very disappointing night. Giving up that many goals in such a short period of time is clearly unacceptable. Team Orange has prided themselves on their ability to defend, but tonight they looked like amateurs against a side that came to play. The score was 7-1 in favour of Team Pink before Team Orange started to show some interest. J.Melo and C.Kfoury had a strong start notching two goals each. For a side that may argue have the better defensive players in their line up, they certainly didn’t back up that claim on this particular night. Plenty of credit to Team Pink for breaking through a non existing defense. Things did eventually slow down once Team Pink built a significant lead. Eventually, Team Orange were a little more animated scoring three times in the final six minutes where D.Lipinski was able to complete his hat trick. Overall, just a solid game by Team Pink while the same cant be said for a side that took a night off.
