Fatal Demons advance in perfect game versus RCGT Knights

The Fatal Demons walloped the RCGT Knights by a landslide as they easily move into the next round. It was a performance so good that the RCGT Knights had no answers on how to improve. Its no small feat to run up the score the way they did, especially in a playoff game. The RCGT Knights struggled particularly against M.Destounis, A.Argroudis and M.Mavroudis. Every time the three were on the court, something was going to happen. M.Mavroudis notched half of his teams goals which is quite something when your team scores ten. After building a 3-0 lead entering the second period, the Fatal Demons kept rolling like a snow ball in full momentum adding five more markers to their offensive output. Apart-from a few shots here and there, the RCGT Knights didn’t generate much which made R.Ranieri’s night easy between the pipes. Many expected the Fatal Demons to pull this one off. It was only a question of how they did it.

Snipers out work Sonic to capture easy win

It goes without saying that you need to come ready to play at this stage during the season. For Sonic, the memo never came, and the Snipers handed them a thumping by the time it was said and done. Things started to look bleak for Sonic when A.Saleh posted his second by the ten minute mark of the second period. Then, two minutes later, Ahamed Khanafer widened the gap by four, and the Snipers knew that they were moving on despite having a period to play. The effort just wasn’t there at times for Sonic. It showed as the game went on that Sonic couldn’t keep up with a more resilient opponent. The Snipers play an annoying style that forces any opponent to remain alert at all times. They always play to their strengths, and benefit because of their hard work. Their only hic up came in the first period when M.Pace got to M.St-Laurent for a rare time. Other than that, the Snipers couldn’t have played a better playoff game.

Brew Crew respond with four in a row to edge out Horsemen

The Horsemen couldn’t have asked for a better deal than to get that kind of a start to the game, especially against a team like the Brew Crew. They managed to build a 3-1 lead by the mid way mark, and everything appeared to be going just fine, at least till that point. Sometimes the score does not indicate the way the game is going. The Brew Crew did not struggle when it came to their pace of play, providing plenty of pressure and shots only to not find the back of the net. That being said, it become only a question of time before the bounces would come their way. Even though they fed off a couple of fortunate bounces, strong teams generates their own luck and eventually get paid off. That was the case for the Brew Crew as they kept battling in order to bounce back into the game. After setting up two teammates ,C.Moutafis provided a huge go ahead marker just before the second period came to a close. For the first time during this contest, the Brew Crew found themselves in front. Still, the Horsemen knew they were in it needing only one good shot on net to even the score. With that next tally so crucial, D.James missed out on a great chance to even the score as the Horsemen were putting some good pressure. As it often happens in hockey, a missed opportunity will come back to haunt you as it was the case when M.Maggiore scored shortly after for a 5-3 lead. The Horsemen did attempt a late push and managed to pull themselves within one thanks to a blistering slap shot by B.Rubino. Unfortunately, the clock was bleeding out, and the Brew Crew were able to shut the door en route to a hard fought victory.

The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Chris Moutafis of the Brew Crew. When his team was trailing 3-1, C.Moutafis took the bull by the horn, and responded by setting up two goals while bagging the go ahead tally for the Brew Crew’s first lead of the night.

The three winners of tonight’s games along with the Van Doos Hc, who skipped out due to a first round bye, will advance to the semi final round. The match ups are as follows:

(1)Van Doos Hc vs Brew Crew(4) Despite what the regular season standings look like this series will go either way. The Van Doos Hc will realise that they wont have that time and space they are used seeing during the regular season. Patience will be an important factor for the division leaders if they plan on taking out a side that’s built to win when it counts.

(2)Fatal Demons vs Snipers(3) If playoff experience matters, than the Fatal Demons own that department and will use it to their advantage. That shouldn’t take away-from what the Snipers need to do. They will need to cautiously be aware when certain players are on the court. If they can slow down some of the Fatal Demons top guns, the Snipers will have a chance to move on.
