Diabetoz Angels regroup to split with ETNA

After looking a little unprepared in their first game going up against ETNA, the Diabetoz Angels rebounded jumping off to a strong start by netting four unanswered goals in the ensuing match. They came out with more urgency and ultimately got rewarded hanging on to a 4-2 decision. Things did get a little messy with the amount of trips visited to the penalty box. At least it was an area of the game that the Diabetoz Angels took advantage of riding two power play goals by XXXX and J.Fisch. Sometimes you just need a wake up call when things don’t go your way along with stellar goaltending. Having A.Ekonomakis can only bring you a long way. The net minder was the reason why his side was able to build a sufficient lead and protect it the rest of the way. ETNA did floor a nice line up, but could have used some keys piecing missing. As it often happens in a two game format between two competitive teams, neither side walk away empty handed.

Classics unable to match Snipers pace

Given the fact that the Classics didn’t floor their usual lethal weapons, these results were expected to happen. Although they managed to pull off the opener in a shootout, the second game was a complete beat down handed by the Snipers. It barely took time for the goals to come with S.Ahmad posting two in a short span that helped provide a comfortable 5-0 lead. By then, the Classics knew they weren’t staffed to mount any sort of comeback. They did however finish stronger on two straight goals by M.Destounis and P.Karvouriaris, but it didn’t matter in the end. The Snipers should feel good about tonight’s overall results. Since they’ll only play a top division team once during the regular season, accumulating four out of a possible six points is only gravy if you plan on finishing high in the standings.

A.Mirolla and D.Lombardi prove to be a handful for the Assadi Consulting inc

A.Mirolla and D.Lombardi are goal scorers, plain and simple. Give them the ball, and most of the time they’ll take care of the rest. The Assadi Consulting inc didn’t quite have a good night which is an understatement for what they are capable of. Rather than focusing on playing a better defensive game, they focused more on trying to play a run and gun style. Sure it can work since they have the horses, but tonight they seemed to be a step behind-from what they are used to. Losing 6-2 is unacceptable for their standards. With that loss, they had another chance to bounce back and be better. And while they did put out a much better fight, it still wasn’t enough in the end. This time, A.Mirolla caused most of the damage bagging a hat trick while in the first encounter D.Lombardi was the forward causing fits for the defense also posting three goals. Both these teams are built well for a long run. The only difference was that tonight the Dragons looked much better and deserved the extra points.

Country Club gets the better of Branditscan, M.Dupuis shines in net

Not even a perfect start was enough for the Branditscan to maintain control of the game versus the Country Club. D.Seguin and J.Molloy got the ball rolling almost immediately providing a 2-0 lead. Then, by the time the first period ended, the Country Club flipped the script and found themselves ahead entering the final frame. They never really let go of the gas pedal by then as they added three more goals en route to a 6-3 decision. C.Payette notched his second as the only multi goal scorer for the Country Club, and M.Dupuis kept his opponents honest on a brilliant goaltending display. The bad start didn’t sit well for N.Francis and the Branditscan. And with a second game yet to be played, things were expected to turn around for a team that just come off a loss. To their credit they kept it much closer with the two sides playing to a 2-2 tie by the mid way point of the final frame. You almost felt that the next tally was going to likely decide where this contest was headed. Already with a pair of goals, C.Gosselin set up a play where N.Smith was able to snap the tie and put the Country Club in front. As much as the Branditscan attempted to even the score, M.Dupuis remained stubborn in net going flawless the rest of the way. Eventually, C.Gosselin was able to feed a yawning cage, and the Country Club capped off a perfect night earning six clean points to the standings.

Degenerates manage to salvage a good ending after a serious thumping in first game to RCGT Knights

A brittle but not a completely broken line up had the Degenerates go up against a difficult opponent on Monday night. The RCGT Knights went into the vault flooring a well established group of players that didn’t seem to miss a beat-from the last time they played together. It showed right away that they never lost their form handing the Degenerates a real beat down that ended 6-0. Even if the score suggested for a lopsided affair, S.Sauk had to be good at times to earn his shutout. Entering the contest, the Degenerates had no choice but to simply hang back and wait for their chances. Unlike the first encounter, they made it much more difficult for the RCGT Knights to generate high end chances despite them having a ton of ball possession. That game plan enabled the Degenerates to time their runs which led to enough decent opportunities where the two sides traded three goals each. Since neither side got it done in regulation time, T.Bergomi and C.Stamadianos showed off their patience in the shootout by waiting out S.Sauk to feed the empty net. D.Guarnieri got the RCGT Knights lone tally on a brilliant finish as well after collecting a total of six points in the two games. Overall, the Degenerates will take the end result considering the circumstances.

The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Mathieu Dupuis of the Country Club. The net minder was solid making timely saves that enabled his side to capture a pair of wins.
