Islanders outmatched by Kings in blowout loss

The Kings toyed with the Islanders-from the drop of the ball, and never seemed to let them have it. The poor defenceless net minder never stood a chance. Having to face a wave of shots, T.Kotsiris was left alone feeling like an open target. Throughout the entire time, the Kings kept their foot on the gas ,and made the Islanders defend a lot more than they wanted to .It was one of those games that wasn’t really fun for the two sides. The Kings barely met resistance while the Islanders were stuck enduring a thumping that only the final buzzer could have stopped the madness. At least F.Tannous was able to take away T.Sauk’s shutout with less than five minutes remaining. Apart-from that, it was all Kings. F.Mastrocola wont seem like he will be taking a night off as the forward struck four times. C.Pirone faired well with three goals, and C.Decotis collected six points that included five assists.

The Allo Mon Coco Ste-Dorothee player of the game goes to Claudio Decotis of the Kings. Some players prefer giving the ball first rather than shooting it. In a landslide win over the Islanders, C.Decotis had a field day setting up five goals while netting one himself.

A.Zafiropoulos scores late to complete comeback for Sabres

A stunning late comeback propelled the Sabres to battle back, and take a heartbreaker-from a team that should have had it .The Canadians came ready to play, scoring three goals in the first twenty minutes. L.Bucci helped set the tone scoring twice, and D.Geishecker-Cote was doing his part in net keeping the Sabres to only one goal after twenty eight minutes. No matter how good of a start you have, teams need to continue playing at full capacity if they plan on winning. Maybe  the Canadians did their best to keep pace or maybe it was the Sabres that just had a slow start, and eventually showed their colors by being the stronger of the two sides. Whatever the reasons, the game shifted heavily into one direction with the Sabres taking over the match. Already with his clubs first goal, C.Zafiropoulos scored his second to pull his side within one. About seven minutes later, A.Angelis was able to tie the game with still plenty of time left over. The two teams would play a little more cautious wanting to make sure nobody is responsible for making a crucial mistake. And in the large part, they kept it that way until a late play saw A.Zafiropoulos squeeze one behind the net minder. His tally came just a minute shy of reaching the overtime period.

Bruins explosive comeback attempt falls short in overtime

The Bruins were able to erase a four goal deficit, scoring the game tying goal with a minute left in regulation to force overtime, but had to settle for the loss when Q.Joseph struck for the Red Wings. The comeback effort was largely led on the back of A.Zakarian, who tallied three straight times to force the sudden death frame. It looked as though the Red Wings played for the first twenty minutes only. They cashed in five times ,but looked disinterested as the Bruins started to finally pick up their game. You never want to go through a sequence when your team is up by a reasonable margin only to slowly see it slip away. Yes, the Red Wings did prevail in the end, but could have easily dropped this one which would have stung for quite some time. Luckily enough, Q.Joseph saved the night by scoring the Red Wings biggest goal of the game. M.St.Martin and Frank had strong starts as the two players shared three points each.

The Allo Mon Coco Ste-Dorothee player of the game goes to Quincy Joseph of the Red Wings. If not for his overtime tally, the Red Wings risked losing a game that they had right in their hands.

Wild blow massive lead in collapse to Flyers

Sunday night appeared to be a cause for celebration if you were playing for the Wild. The offense was rolling, the defense was making plays, and the Flyers looked to be down and out. Its not like they trailed by a pair or three or four goals The margin was a five goal gap with only fourteen minutes left to kill. You almost had to figure it was in the bag if you were the two teams. By the time it was said and done however, the end result must have proven everyone wrong for how this thing got out of hand. Sometimes its even hard to figure out if its one team that played so dominant or if the other team took a heavy dose of Nyquil and fell asleep. In the end, this was one that the two teams will remember for a while for how it ended. The Flyers took their spinach as of the 34 minute mark and never looked back piling up a bunch of goals. Many contributed with D.Galloro being a part of the equation striking twice. His second tally came late which set the stage for more dramatics to come. With the two sides trading a bunch of chances, E.Allen took in the moment by making the games biggest play.

The Allo Mon Coco Ste-Dorothee player of the game goes to E.Allen of the Flyers. No doubt this win involved everyone, but E.Allen was the lightning rod that made a lot of significant plays happen. Not only does he control the back end by breaking up plays, the veteran generated most of the offense, and tonight it showed again as he was able to score three goals that included the biggest of them all in overtime.
