Les Carmoni de Fabreville put 1 Timer on brink

Even though the 1 Timer controlled their own destiny holding a 2 point lead over the Firebreathers for that last playoff spot, nothing was yet set in stone until this night was over. In both their games versus Les Carmoni de Fabreville, the 1 Timer managed to collect only one out of a possible six points. That scenario may have come to burn them in the end with the Firebreathers literally breathing down their throats. T.Daigneault did his part bagging a hat trick in the opening contest while P-A Surprenant riffled both tallies in their second contest. Les Carmoni de Fabreville, despite playing with no changes to their bench, ended up pulling off two tight victories .J.Poirier scored twice and collected an assist while L-C Desmarais helped get his club over the hump with the lone shootout marker. Still, the 1 Timer weren’t in a bad situation, especially knowing that Les Carmoni de Fabreville may have been tired after that contest. However, something wasn’t right for the men in orange on this night. Unable to take advantage of a given situation, Les Carmoni de Fabreville did the improbable once more. This time, L-C Desmarais struck twice and the 1 Timer weren’t able to force the extra time dropping what may have been a must win. After suffering two disappointing losses, the 1 Timer no longer controlled their fate and needed to see what the Firebreathers would do in their final games of the season.

Firebreathers complete astounding finish to season

All hail to the Firebreathers, who on Monday night completed a great late season run .There reward: a place in the playoffs. Needing only one win to make the playoff field, the Firebreathers delivered a very strong performance. However, it had to go to the second game of the miniseries between them and the Punishers to get it all finalised. The first game belonged to the Punishers taking a convincing 7-3 result. A.Centis and his captain J.Fidrilis each scored twice that led to a 7-3 victory. The Firebreathers were forced at that point to collect three clean points to edge out the 1 Timer for that last spot. With the game winding down to its last moments, the Firebreathers looked for dead trailing by one goal with less than a minute remaining .Then, in a blink of an eye a miracle push was in the making .G.Cardillo evened the score with 55 seconds left to go and the Firebreathers still had a chance needing one more tally .And in the end, the 1 Timer’s playoff hopes disintegrated when B.Daniele rescued his club leaving only 3 little seconds on the scoreboard. It took some extreme circumstances but the Firebreathers found a way to sneak in. Now that the regular season is done with, new challenges face five teams that equally have a chance at taking the division. Before entering the final four stages, next week will feature the 4^th vs 5^th place match up to see who gets that fourth seed. That game involves Team X taking on the Firebreathers.
