(1)Butchers vs Icons (10)
E.Girouard and S.Robineault feast combining for seven goals
Once again, the Butchers were not the better team. The Icons were able to take it to them dominating every aspect of the game. When you're chasing most of the match, a negative result is always to be expected. At least three goals went in every period with E.Girouard leading the charge on four tallies. Next in line saw a long time and familiar line mate cause havoc as S.Robineault popped in three. Eventually, the Butchers did have something to celebrate about when S-A Longo took away C.Stavriadis's shutout.
(2)Fatal Demons vs Lynx(8)
Lynx use their speed to out play Fatal Demons
The Fatal Demons were under no illusions that they got beaten by a quicker team. To their credit, they did hang in there for most of the match. However, once the third period hit, the downward fall began. The Lynx pulled away notching five goals that saw R.Beaver hit the target three times. Only three players scored in the win that included the captain J.Lang and J.Labadie sharing a pair. This result was a classical example of a younger and quicker team having the legs in the final stretch of a hockey game, especially going up against only two lines.
(5)Shocker's vs Slayers (3)
Slayers comeback attempt falls short in loss to Shockers
If only the Slayers could have started the way they finished. Playing error prone hockey, the Slayers were stuck trying to dig themselves-from a very deep hole. So dominant were the Shockers virtually -from the opening draw that the Slayers were left reeling. The Shockers scored early and often, grabbing a 5-0 lead before there was finally a response-from the other team. But despite the huge deficit, the Slayers refused to give up and eventually made a game of it. Unfortunately time just wasn't on their side as they settled for three consecutive goals. The beauty with this win for the Shockers was that everyone pulled their weight that resulted in five different goal scorers. D.Bourque was also major factor as the net minder enabled his club to play with a substantial lead.
The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Randy Beaver of the Lynx. With the game close after two periods, R.Beaver took it upon himself to break it wide open by riffling three markers.
