Brewers overwhelm slumping Family

C.Pirone scored four goals, sparking the Brewers to an easy 11-4 victory on Friday night. The Brewers started to distance themselves as of the second period where they ran up the score on four unanswered tallies. Goals also came-from E.Bouchard, who bagged a hat trick and T.Fernando that was able to open and close the scoring for the Brewers. It's just unfortunate that the Family can't to seem to get anything going, especially with the playoffs just around the corner. M-A Daaha, J.Iacampo, M.Defanti and P.Defanti all scored in the loss.

Jeremi Brunet keeps haunting opponents

Fielding their usual short bench, the Killer Wolves are simply toying with everyone. It's been no secret to anyone so far this season that J.Brunet is a player that needs to be guarded. And despite the HBHA knowing this, it still didn't matter. The sharp shooter hit the target in every frame to collecting another one of many hat tricks so far this season. The HBHA knew they needed a good start in order to challenge a solid opponent. Unfortunately, by falling behind 2-0 after one period, the order became taller than hoped for. They did manage a decent second frame trading three goals apiece but were never able to pull ahead.

Second period explosion blows National by Excalibur

Even though the Excalibur had the better start jumping off to a 2-1 lead, it was only a question of time that National would eventually take over. The reason being, the Excalibur presented themselves with only six dressed players that would sooner or later catch up. The inevitable eruption occurred by the second period when S.Laplante scored back to back tallies as part of a four goal onslaught. Amazingly enough, the captain continues to tear up the score sheet with an abundance of points. M.Pinheiro collected points in all six goals that included five helpers.

Devil Dawgz go the distance to secure first place

The Devil Dawgz clinched first place of the second division on a big shootout win over the Pillows. This contest was expected to be close and lived up to expectations. Never once did one team lead after a single period. Most of the action occurred in the final stretch with both sides exchanging two goals apiece. The Pillows were hoping to secure the win in regulation time when K.Tsoukalas ripped a bomb for a 4-3 lead. Unfortunately, an ensuing penalty-from the very same K.Tsoukalas led to a power play marker by N.Faria. Overtime did have its moments but neither side were able to seal the deal. Then, with the Pillows losing out on a shooter in the breakaways due to a penalty, the Devil Dawgz made sure to bury their chances. E.Medrano and J.Constantin each scored while D.Massa denied both attempts-from the Pillows.

The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Jeremi Brunet. No matter how hard anyone tries to contain him, the sharp shooter continues to find a way. Tonight's 6-3 win over the HBHA saw J.Brunet score once in every period to lead the league with 25 goals.

The Masters 35+ regular season came to an end on Friday night. With a total of 8 teams, the division is cropped into two. The first division involves the top three teams with the Killer Wolves securing an automatic spot to the final. The semi semis will have National take on the HBHA. As for the second division, the top three seeds will be placed right away in the semi finals leaving only the Family to take on the Excalibur for the fourth and final spot. (2) National vs HBHA(3) Equally matched in all areas of the game, this series will come down to the nitty gritty work your behind off style match up. The HBHA will make it a point to show up with a stacked roster that involves three lines. And unless the National match those numbers, they will struggle in a best of three series played on the same night.

(4)The Family vs Excalibur (5) The Excalibur have had an unpredictable season when it comes to their players showing up. If they manage a complete line up, look for them to take out the Family. The Family won't have a choice but to get solid goaltending along with an overall team effort in order to advance.
