(3)United Armenians vs Smooth Sailors (7)
F.Palmitano plays unlikely hero
When you go down the list of players that the Smooth Sailors have that can make a huge impact in the scoring department, F.Palmitano isn't one that will stick out. The Smooth Sailors were glad to see that secondary scoring can also be an option on an already stacked roster. F.Palmitanos's impact on the game couldn't have come at a better time. In a very short span of only ten seconds, F.Palmitano strung together two quick goals to help provide a 4-2 lead. Clearly, that sequence helped inspire the rest of his teammates to run down the United Armenians, especially his brother J.Palmitano, who went on to add a pair of third period insurance markers to cap off the night.
(5)Legacy vs SBS Trashers(5) S.O
SBS Trashers mount comeback to draw even with Legacy
In search of a spark to salvage their night, the SBS Trashers managed to wake up and erase a three goal deficit. Things started to turn around when J.Scalia and G.Bampos scored late in the second period to pull the Trashers within one. Battling-from behind against a team that usually locks it up doesn't normally happen, but the SBS Trashers showed why they are the reigning champs. Legacy had to deal with a couple of issues ahead of them. First off, trying to slow down a constant pressure, and secondly trying to solve R.Pampena at least one more time. Even though Pampena gave up five goals, this contest could have been way worse if not for the net minder. The match ultimately had no winner as both sides failed to take advantage in the shootouts.
The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Franco Palmitano of the Smooth Sailors. While most expected the Smooth Sailors top guns to pull through, F.Palmitano decided to take matters into his own hands collecting three straight points that included two big goals.
