(2)Brewers vs Devil Dawgz(3) O.T
Brewers rally to force overtime but lose to Devil Dawgz
After a strong two periods of hockey, the Devil Dawgz earned them a 2-0 lead heading into the third, but it wasn't good enough to close out the deal in regulation time. It took the three minute mark of overtime for the J.Melo and the Devil Dawgz to pull through. In what seemed like an innocent play, J.Melo put enough mustard in his screened wrist shot to beat G.Platanitis. There was no doubt Platanitis would have loved to have that one back. It just goes to show that anything can happen when you put the ball on net. Prior to that point, J.Constantin put the Devil Dawgz in the driver's seat by providing a pair of tallies. The end result proved to be vital for the Devil Dawgz as they try and distance themselves -from last place.
(7)Pylons vs National (3)
Relentless Pylons hand National their first defeat
National's unbeaten season came to an end under the weight of their inability to penetrate the Pylons defensive game. The Pylons zipped to an early 3-1 lead and used it to their full advantage throughout the entire game. Yes, there were moments that National dominated possession, but when a team bears down defensively while relying on a solid goaltender, it makes it all that much more difficult to produce. T.Settino was the only player to score twice that included the winner. National had more than their fair share of shots and scoring chances but were stuck dealing with a thorn between the pipes. C.Stavriadis was simply that good making plenty of basic saves that never allowed National to get back in the game.
(4)Chiefs vs Bramabulls(10)
Good start turns into a horrible finish for the Chiefs
Considering their start to the game, the Chiefs looked ready and poised for a decent outcome. Then, the wheels came off, and the Chiefs fell off a cliff never to be seen. The Bramabulls bombarded the Chiefs with ten goals in a game that went extremely right for one club and the opposite for the other. Four goals came-from S.Ruggiero while F.Bchara chipped in with a pair and two assists. This is a game that the Chiefs need to quickly forget and focus on what to do right entering their final stretch.
The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Jason Melo of the Devil Dawgz. With the season winding down while in search of crucial points, J.Melo provided two big ones for the standings after riffling a tricky wrist shot to decide the game in overtime.
