1 Timer bounce back to even the score with Les Yables

The 1 Timer got back playing to their strengths after a sour loss to Les Yables. They managed to limit their turnovers and re discovered their scoring touch in the final frame on four unanswered goals. P-A Surprenant used a sweet back hand move to lift the ball just under the bar that snapped a 3-3 tie. It was clear from that point on that the 1 Timer smelled blood outworking Les Yables en route to a 6-3 double up victory. Perhaps, Les Yables entered the second match a little more complacent after a dominating performance earlier on. D.Marcotte scored twice in the opening contest and repeated the same performance in the second game as clearly their best forward. Looking back, Les Yables played well for three straight periods but were no where to be seen in the final stretch where the 1 Timer came to life.

LG HC hoped to clip Orient after surrendering late tally

Ali Khanafer scored with eleven seconds left, and the Orient may have surprised the LG HC on a night where they had a high quality roster. There was no doubt it came as a demoralizing loss, but there was still another shot at some redemption for the LG HC. The problem however was that the Orient weren’t planning on settling for a job half done. Instead, they took the same approach making things extremely difficult for the LG HC. By fighting  valiantly and never letting down at any point, the Orient barley gave time and space for the LG HC to breathe. The second match was eventually decided in the final five minutes where Hadi Khanafer buried his second to snap a 3-3 tie. Ali Sayed would then add his second as well, and the Orient were on their way to celebrating a pair of character victories. F.Nasser’s message prior to the game was met by the time it was said and done. When every single player buys into a system and believes in each other, it just goes to prove that anything is possible.

Classics using their depth over depleted Prolific Athletes

The Classics had a huge advantage on Monday night versus the Prolific Athletes, and that advantage was their depth chart. They steamrolled past them on two straight games getting balanced scoring and reliable goaltending. The results weren’t lopsided but the games weren’t close enough nevertheless. In both their wins, the Classics built at least a three goal cushion that forced the Prolific Athletes to get something going. P.Santullo made his goals count as the captain was credited with both winners. K.Kavan had a multi goal performance for the Classics as did A.Jalilvand for the Prolific Athletes.

Ice Breakers have Immigrant’s number

Tonight’s results proved one thing for the Ice Breakers, and that is they have Les Immigrant’s number. Les Immigrant did compete for the entire four periods but ultimately fell short making it a fourth consecutive loss to the Ice Breakers. B.Freitas Pereira’s lone goal stood up, and A.Zardarian turned aside all 12 shots he faced to earn a shutout. The second match had a little more mustard to it with both teams combining for six goals. However, it was the Ice Breakers once again coming out on top. M.Boghossian had plenty to do with the win by bagging two big goals that included the winner. Even though Les Immigrant came empty handed in four meetings with the Ice Breakers, every single game could have gone either way for how close they were.

The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Ali Sayed of the Orient. He was as efficient as a defensemen can to be . Sayed created tones of offense through his ability to walk in when needed to, and at the same time extremely good without the ball breaking up plays that turned into counter attacks.
