C.Gingras and Punishers seek pay back vs Smooth Sailors
The Punishers made it a point to not drop two games versus the Smooth Sailors on Monday night. After falling short 5-3 in the opening game, C.Gingras message was loud and clear that the Punishers were to bounce back and even the score. The Punishers came out aggressive in the second encounter making sure that they played on top rather than chasing the game . They did see their lead answered twice in the first period but managed to maintain it in the second frame when C.Gingras posted his second on the power play. Till that point, the Smooth Sailors had no issues finding the back of the net but they finally hit a wall in N.Mackeen, who was brilliant stopping over 15 shots. K.Kuczmarski showed again that he cant be slowed down no matter how hard you try. The Smooth Sailors took the first match in large part due to Kuczmarski’s ability to find the back of the net. The natural sniper jump started the night on a hat trick while adding a pair of points in the ensuing game. There is no doubt both teams share an abundance of talent which makes its always for an entertaining night.

One bad period haunts Degenerates vs Classics
All they had to do was to protect a three goal lead with only one period remaining. Instead, they got complacent and ultimately paid the price. The Classics have the poise and experience to not feel rattled no matter the circumstances. And after falling behind the way they did, G.DeMarinis along with the rest of the Classics gave the Degenerates a real hockey lesson in the end. That result hit a nerve to the Degenerates, who felt they should have buried the match and enter the second contest up 1-0 in the mini series. But like most teams do after suffering such a heart breaking loss, they tend to bounce back even stronger by taking nothing for granted. Clearly, this was the case as they out worked the Classics striking four times in only four minutes. S.Marricco just came off a two goal performance before duplicating his efforts in the second match.

Prolific Athletes use speed in blow out win despite only 5 players
When the Prolific Athletes spoke about what they needed to do in order to bounce back vs the Excalibur, they were talking about using their speed in order to stretch out the game. The adjustments paid off and the Prolific Athletes had a field day in a 7-2 rout of the Excalibur. What made it even more enlightening was that they did it with only five players and a solid goaltender in F.Vigliotti. Three out of there seven goals came-from Y.Gazura while G.Theristal was all over the court producing five points. As disappointing as the overall night was for the Excalibur, they did manage to escape with an earlier 3-2 win thanks to pair of big goals by R.Cohen.

Shell Shocked Orient unable to recover after squandering late lead
Its not considered a massive melt down but the Orient may have felt that way after giving up a 2-0 lead ,especially with the second goal occurring only 30 seconds before the game ended. That equaliser by G.Amorosa forced the game into a shootout where the Bad Guys Inc prevailed on S.Lachapelle’s lone tally. Still, the door was opened for some sort of pay back, but unfortunately for the Orient, things went-from bad to worse. The Bad Guys Inc carried their momentum by striking first in order to dictate the pace to their liking. After building a 3-0 comfortable lead, the only thing missing was a perfect sheet for G.Barkley. 14 seconds was all that was left over for Barkley to preserve his shutout only to see it stripped away by Y.Derohannessian.

The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Carl Gingras of the Punishers. As he’s done it many times before, G.Cingras was influential in bouncing back the Punishers to a close 4-3 win over the Smooth Sailors by collecting three big points that included the winner.
