(8)Bramabulls vs AREZ(3)

J.Mandracchia and M.Maggiore both get hat tricks in Bulls high scoring win

J.Mandracchia and M.Maggiore each scored three goals as the Bramabulls powered its way to an 8-3 victory over AREZ on Wednesday night. The Bramabulls stormed out of the gate with three straight goals to immediately put the AREZ on its heels. AREZ did manage to stop the bleeding but only for a little while. Coming out of the second period was definitely positive for the AREZ but they know they can’t expect to win many games when falling behind 3-0.The final frame resembled much of the first with the Bramabulls continuing their offensive onslaught on four more tallies. As it’s always been for A.DiPerna and his troops, rolling a deep roster will often get them a positive result.

(5)Horsemen vs Bulldogs (3)

B.Rubino nets two power play goals, Horsemen edge out Bulldogs

Defenseman B.Rubino was ready to play as soon as the ball dropped on Wednesday night. Teams can always appreciate when some offense comes from their back end. Apart from relying on his sound defensive game, the Horsemen know that Rubino can light the lamp. Tonight’s win came courtesy of his two power play goals that included the winner along with an insurance marker. The Horsemen never trailed but took the lead three times before getting some breathing room. T.Karasek also scored twice in the victory while S.Dion did the same for the Bulldogs.

(2)Toyota Candiac vs Fat Roy(5)

Fat Roy ride dominant power play in rout of Toyota Candiac

When Fat Roy went on the power play, they were thinking one thing, and that was to make the Toyota Candiac pay. Fat Roy were lethally efficient in doing that in their 5-2 win. Out of their three power play chances, N.Gikas, K.Fiore and D.Lombardi each scored with the man advantage. As much as the special teams were significant, the turning point did come on an even strength goal early in the third period. N.Gikas was able to snap a 2-2 third period tie before Fat Roy put the match to rest on a pair of power play goals.

(7)Carnage vs Knights (4)

Carnage down Knights on late power play goal by F.Pace

It took until the late stages of the third period before Carnage could put the game away and record their second win in as many games. And who better that the captain to decide matters. F.Pace was the one to riffle the winner with less than two minutes remaining. From there, T.Ruvo made sure to cap it off by bagging two insurance goals. The Knights felt the frustration of this loss, especially after grabbing the lead twice while eventually overcoming a two goal deficit in the third period. F.Bchara and M.Dupuis did all they could sharing three points each in the loss.

The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Bryan Rubino of the Horsemen. The steady defenseman was instrumental for the Horsemen providing two key power play goals.

(13)Mighty Drunks vs Bad Habits (3)

Mighty Drunks smoke Bad Habits with scoring onslaught

It’s never pleasant when a team gets scored that many times. The Bad Habits gave up too many goals in the first period alone that made them uninterested in trying to battle back. Up already 7-1, the Mighty Drunks brought it down a notch but still ran up the score. M.Pinheiro and S.Laplante posted hat tricks while combining for 14 points. Perhaps, it was to be expected when a team has all but two players to change with versus a staked line-up. These types of games require a good start and a solid defensive performance in order to have any sort of chance. Unfortunately for the Bad Habits, they got neither and were stuck enduring a thumping defeat.

(3)Fatal Demons vs Buckshots(7)

Buckshots get all their scoring done by M.Destounis and Y.Derohannesian

It goes without saying that it’s not every day you see a pair of teammates do all of the scoring, especially when they bury seven. M.Destounis kicked off the party to open the score in the second period rattling off his first of four on the night. Then, and not to be out done, Y.Derohannesian completed his own hat trick on a pair of late goals. The Fatal Demons had too many weapons to worry about and seemed to have their hands full at times to contain the fire power from the Buckshots. They did manage to stay within striking distance on the large part, that was up until M.Destounis shattered their confidence when he notched two very quick tallies by the third period. E.Mavroudis normally puts at least one in on seven goals but the power forward won’t have a hard time sleeping knowing that he helped set up four markers.

(3)Fitforce Phoenix vs Left Wings(7)

Left Wings quick goals in second period do in Fitforce Phoenix

Three goals in less than two minutes sparked the Left Wings to a 7-3 victory over the Fitforce Phoenix on Thursday night. It was a closely contested game up until that point. That sequence saw scoring efforts from three different players which ultimately tilted the court in the Left Wings favour. The Fit Force Phoenix will look back at some self-inflicted wounds that enabled the Left Wings to capitalise. Hockey is a game of errors and the Left Wings did a great job limiting theirs. The win came courtesy of an overall team effort that saw A.Perrault as the only multi goal scorer for the Left Wings. As for the Fit Force Phoenix ,B.Cabral led all teammates participating in all three goals.

The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Marino Destounis of the Buckshots. With the help of his tremendous four goal performance, the Buckshots were able to walk away with the win over the Fatal Demons on Thursday night.
