Yellow T-Shirts pull away in second game after close encounter

A.Zarzour and N.Gilbert each scored in the shootout to take the opening game, and the Yellow T-Shirts found a way to contain the Chic Choc's offense in the second match. The Chic Choc looked better prepared-from the get go showing more energy by winning lots of one on one battles. The only problem was that they couldn't hold off the Yellow T-Shirts offense leaving only a dreaded shootout to decide the outcome. N.Gilbert scored two second period goals before securing the win in the extra time on a quick precise wrist shot. The second game appeared to be a carbon copy of the first one with the Chic Choc striking first courtesy of S.Scott. But as time went on, the script flipped favouring only one team. The Yellow T-Shirts responded in a heavy way bagging five straight goals that included two-from A.Zarzour. Prior to the game, the Yellow T-Shirts needed to find a way to get on track after a slow start to the season. And by sticking to their game plan while working extremely hard, the end results were justified.

Armadillos adjust to even the score with Les Yables

Les Yables may have outplayed the Armadillos en route to a 4-1 win, but that doesn't mean that it would set the trend for the second encounter. Experience hockey teams have the ability to adjust and that's exactly what happened with J.Kontitsis tweaking his game plan. Les Yables found it more difficult to create chances as the gaps shortened due to the suffocating coverage. And when you add the fact of having a game changing player such as G.Bouchard, the odds are good for a positive outcome. The quarter back defenseman simply did his thing and was involved in all four goals that included two for him. Rather than relying on one particular player, Les Yables have many different weapons that can hurt you. Their win consisted of four different players finding the back of the net coupled with their net minder J-F Simard making the big necessary saves.

G.Pisanelli turns on the jets after slow start

The Communists did a remarkable thing in the first game versus the LG HC, and that was to shutout G.Pisanelli from-the score sheet. Led by D.Provost`s lone goal along with M.Melo shutting the door for a 14 save shutout, the Communists got the start they wanted on Monday night. Unfortunately, that good start wasn't able to translate into the second game where the LG HC replied with a big win. The bounce back effort had only six players involved. Clearly fatigue wasn't an issue, and especially for G.Pisanelli who is playing at a different level. The highly skilled forward had his hands in four out of his clubs five goals that included a hat trick. E.Girouard had the other two markers in the win while A.Stamiris contributed with three assists. Apart from-being credited his winner in the earlier match, D.Provost wasn't done yet adding two more in the 5-3 loss. The LG HC victory may have used their offense for the result but plenty of it had to do with F.Baratta securing the pipes. On every shot that the net minder faces, Baratta seems to be always ready and focused making it very hard to get anything by him.

Punishers overwhelms Immigrant as N.Mackeen allows only 1 goal

It was surely an easy night for N.Mackeen and the Punishers. The net minder wasn't overly busy allowing all but S.Jankouzian to beat him in the second match. The Punishers wasted no time early on thanks to their captain J.Fidrilis, who set the tone with a pair of quick goals. From there, the Punishers controlled the ball without exception for most of the game securing a 7-0 victory. A.Laramee also scored twice while setting up three goals. Despite the obvious discrepancy between the two clubs, Les Immigrant worked hard to keep the game close early on in the second encounter. If not for R.Ricaurte making huge saves, the game was going to be put out of reach. Instead, the Punishers needed up until the second period in order to separate themselves-from a resilient group. A.Laramee once again buried a pair as did M.Gagnon.

Goal scoring machine S.Robineault haunts Tocas

For years S.Robineault has shown how to score goals. Perhaps, the Tocas didn't pay too much attention which may explain how one single player did most of the damage in both games for the Dragons. Even though the scoring was low, every single goal had S.Robineault involved. In the case of the first encounter, the sharp shooter netted the Dragons lone marker while striking in the shootout to take the contest 2-1. The problem for the Tocas was that he was just getting warmed up for the ensuing match. The Dragons stormed out of the gate with three straight goals that had Robineault score twice while setting up J.Pantelis, who also participated in all three goals. The game looked like it was over and done with despite the amount t of time left over but the Tocas weren't calling it quits just yet. L.Bavellas powered a slap shot to finally beat P.Assadi, and S-A Longo followed up only minutes late to pull within one. Unfortunately, that was as close as it got for the Tocas managing only one out of a possible six points in the standings.

The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Simon Robineault of the Dragons. Give him a nice cross pass and S.Robineault will make anyone pay. The sharp shooter relies heavily on his one timer that often finds the back of the net. The Dragons won both their games thanks to Robineault, who combined for three goals, one assist along with the shootout winner in the first encounter.
