Hockeyballe.com could say they hung around long enough, but ultimately fell off the grid by the time the third period hit. G.Marineau made the score 3-0, and E.Valiquette closed out the deal with back to back insurance goals. M.Levin stopped all 13 shots he faced , and while he wasn’t overly busy , he looked confident and strong in net to record a shutout. It didn’t take long for S.Dicaire to get Dek Lanaudiere on board. Getting that first goal always helps, and Dek Lanaudiere was able to seize control that lasted throughout the entire three periods. The win puts them presently in second place of the division which could be locked up depending what the Centre SportXpo does versus Le Rinque. As for the Hockeyballe.com, this was their first of two games of a double header night as they look to rebound later against Dek Ultimate.

Depending what happened in this game between the Centre SportXpo and Le Rinque will determine who finishes in first place. Le Rinque did enter the night with the slight advantage of needing to bring the game into overtime or needing to win it by only one goal which would be sufficient to staple their regular season division title. But their ambitions were much higher as it showed in the first period where they strung two goals together-from S.Provencal and J.Bellevance. Clearly, that put the Centre SportXpo in a bind having to battle back against a side that barely gives you anything. However, they managed to get that next needed goal courtesy of P.Musto to cut the lead in half with plenty of time left over. In order to get any sort of success going up against Le Rinque, you need to avoid visiting the penalty box. On three occasions, Le Center SportXpo floored a man short, and in consequence paid the price in the end. Le Rinque buried all three chances with the man advantage on scoring efforts-from three different players. After receiving 18 shots, C.Lantin stopped all but one to earn the win in net.
Sluggish offense continues for Hockeyballe.com as they fall to Dek Ultimate

As their season comes to a close, the Hockeyballe.com need to address an important area of their game. Yes they can defend, and yes they can rely on some solid goaltending, but that wont be nearly enough if you cant contribute offensively. Tonight’s double header has to come as cause for concern for a side that buried only one chance in six periods. P.Arkalis needed to wait up until the third period to finally end the spell which had his side trail 2-1 by that point. Unfortunately, they laid another egg shortly after when H.Merone collected his third point of the game. There was almost no way that the Dek Ultimate were going to let this one slip away, especially being the fresher group of the two sides. With the clock winding down, Merone added his second as part of a four point night while B.Dieujuste was able to collect his third point of the game.
The SalumiVino player of the night goes to H.Merone of Dek Ultimate. The clever and shifty forward was feeling it on this night participating in all four goals that led to a 4-1 decision.
The Dek Elite regular season came to a close on Tuesday night. The playoff season will begin on Saturday September 17 held at the Centre SportXpo de Laval.
