Bad Guys Inc unable to hold their lead vs Punishers

After what they thought was surely wrapped ,up the Bad Guys inc couldn’t kill those few seconds remaining in order to capture the first encounter with the Punishers. Instead, P.Karvouriaris  scored his second, and this game went to a shootout where neither side was able to get it done. The Bad Guys Inc couldn’t have asked for a better start in the next match. They quickly erased what had just happened and responded with authority posting two very quick goals in only three minutes. V.Albanese beat the buzzer before the frame ended and the Bad Guys Inc were once again in control of the situation. Unfortunately, history quickly repeated itself as the Punishers reminded their opponent that they weren’t done  yet. After coming off a two goal performance, P.Karvouriaris duplicated his efforts adding two more tallies to pull the Punishers within one. Then, with the game winding down ,T.Karvouriaris seized the moment to level the game while sending it once again to extra time. This time however, a decision was made with C.Gingras solving the net minder for the Punishers.

Classics pull away to leave Hart Foundation in the dust

Even though they couldn’t get the result they wanted in the opening game, the Classics felt better things to come in the second encounter with the Hart Foundation. Both sides traded two shootout goals after a low scoring affair leaving no winners. Eventually, they came together, everyone was able to step it up and the Classics had everyone connecting en route to an easy win. Contributions was spread out through out the line up with M.Mavroudis netting a key shorthanded goal as his first of two during the encounter. That goal seemingly broke the Hart Foundations back knowing they needed at least three to level. They did finally get on board when R.Kilgour beat P.Assadi for a rare time, but the damage had already been done. The Classics stuck with it and eventually figured out on how to separate themselves-from their opponent as the night went on.

HC Jokerit try to measure up after lopsided defeat

There was no doubt this was going to be a difficult challenge for the HC Jokerit, having to go against an established and well oiled Orient side. Although they didn’t have a strong start, they did manage to put up a decent fight in the second match. Up until the end of the first frame, the HC Jokerit forced the Orient to work very hard if they planned on sweeping the mini series. A.Fahra perhaps set the path in motion when striking for a 5-3 lead heading into the final stretch. Still, plenty of time was left over if the HC Jokerit was planning to come back and cause fits towards a superior opponent. Unfortunately, it took only 21 seconds into the last period for M.David to widen the margin by three. The Orient went on to cruise-from there with H.Awada completing his hat trick late in the game. Despite dropping both games, A.Alonso provided plenty of offense for the HC Jokerit scoring twice while adding an assist.

1 Timer get pay back after narrow loss to RCGT Knights

The pot started to boil, but time simply ran out for the 1 Timer, who just fell short in a 6-5 loss to the RCGT Knights.  The first period was definitely the key as they got timely goals surging to a 3-0 lead before ending the frame up 4-2. P.Karigiannis came through twice at the right time, especially towards the end of the game where he snapped a very late 5-5 tie. While the RCGT Knights celebrated a hard fought win, the 1 Timer had their heads in only one place, and that was in the ensuing match. M.Carpentier had just come off a hat trick before striking first for the 1 Timer. But it wasn’t until the final stretch where the really put things into motion. P-A Surprenant’s persistence came into play as the natural sniper put two behind E.Parent. From-there, both sides knew the fate of the game with less than five minutes remaining.
