M-O Brouillard's Brilliance, Key to Les Yables' Championship Triumph over the DHK

The Monday second division championship finals of the 4vs 4 division saw an intense showdown between Les Yables and DHK, captivating fans with their skill and determination. After a tough loss in the first game, Les Yables refused to back down. With unwavering resolve, they stormed back in the second game, levelling the series against DHK, setting the stage for a thrilling finale. In the highly anticipated third and deciding game, both teams left everything on the rink. Every play, every pass, and every shot carried the weight of the championship. It was a defensive battle, with neither side willing to concede an inch. Then, in a moment of pure brilliance, Les Yables seized their opportunity. With precision and finesse, M-O Brouillard led the charge, orchestrating a play to set up N.St-Onge for the 1-0 lead. The goal still left about eight minutes for a DHK response. Unfortunately, no matter how hard they tried to get the equaliser, Les Yables held firm stifling the offense while heavily relying on J-F Simard to make the key saves. With each heart-stopping moment, the tension in the complex reached a fever pitch. Every block, every save, and every clearance was met with a sigh of relief-from Les Yables’s bench. As the final seconds tickled down, Les Yables's players fought with unwavering determination, refusing to let their hard-earned lead slip away. And when the buzzer sounded, it marked not only the end of the game, but also the beginning of wild celebrations as Les Yables were crowned champions of the Monday division. Their victory was a testament to their resilience, teamwork, and sheer grit, and as they hoisted the championship trophy high above their heads, they knew that their triumph would be remembered for years to come. On behalf of Hockeyballe.com, congratulations go out to Alexis Gervais, D.Marcotte and the rest of Les Yables for winning the Monday 4vs4 second division.

(4)GK vs Capitals(2)

GK surge early in third period to top Capitals

Despite giving up the opening and closing goal of the game, the rest in between belonged to the GK. The Capitals managed to hang in there long enough but eventually realised it was done when M.David and F.Belisle each struck early in the third period for a 4-1 lead. It was clear that the up hill battle from that point on felt unrealistic for the Capitals having to go up against a team can shut anybody down. In his season debut, P-O Girouard did not disappoint forming his brick wall structure stopping close to 20 shots. The win saw four different players cash in with M.David’s third period marker holding up for the winner.

(2)Montreal As vs Black Knights(5)

Y.Derohannessian’s late shorty seals the deal for the Black Knights

Y.Derohannessian couldn’t have picked a better time than to notch a shorthanded goal. Although the Black Knights were in front 3-2, that tally pretty much summed up the game between the two sides with just over three minutes remaining. It was an overall solid performance from the two teams with each side carrying the play. M.Ianovale struck first to get the balling rolling for the Montreal As and didn’t give up their first tally till the four minute mark of the second period. Once the game was tied, J.Gagne took over bagging two in a row to put the Black Knights in the drivers seat. A.Lemay did eventually respond to reduce the gap but it was all for nothing as Derohannessian struck shortly after with a huge blow.

The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Jonathan Gagne of the Black Knights. Big time players know when to show up when the game is on the line. J.Gagne was proof of that once again for the Black Knights collecting back to back tallies after snapping a dead lock 1-1 tie.

Team Canada’s depth proves too much to handle for Armenia.

In a David vs Goliath type ball hockey match-up, Armenia held their own and gave Canada all they could handle. It was clear from the start that this was going to be a very tall order for the Armenian squad, who despite being severely outshot and out chanced, managed to keep it fairly close, thanks in large part to R.Ranieri 's brilliant performance in goal. From the opening faceoff, Canada showcased their formidable skills, controlling possession and dictating the pace of the game. They never trailed throughout the game and as usual, their transition game and offensive depth was on full display, as 5 different players managed to find the back of the net. Although the odds were stacked against them, it was most definitely a good test for Armenia, who can look at this as a good building block, as they remained resilient versus a powerful adversary.

Italy hangs on and triumphs Over Pakistan in back-and-forth Nail-biter.

An intense and fiery match-up was expected, as both teams looked to get back in the win column and build any kind of momentum. From the opening whistle to the final buzzer, both teams left it all on the floor, showcasing skill, determination, and unwavering teamwork.  Pakistan came out strong, taking a 3-1 lead and moving the ball with precision and efficiency and limiting team Italy’s chances offensively. The game however turned in the 3rd period, where Pakistan got into penalty trouble and allowed Italy to capitalize by scoring 2 powerplay goals on blistering slapshots by veteran d-man P.Musto.  Pakistan, refusing to back down, tested Italy's defense and kept the pressure on throughout the remainder of the game, but C.Confuorti and Italy’s defence held the fort and stifled Pakistan’s repeated chances to emerge victorious, clinching a hard-fought 6-5 win.

Greece’s firepower proves too much for Haiti to contain in rout.

Playing a team like Greece requires an overall team effort and of course a good start, which wasn’t the case for team Haiti on this night vs a tough opponent.  Team Greece’s transition game was on full display, as the ball moved quickly from defence to offence, overwhelming Haiti, who were constantly forced to defend and be on their heels. Led by K. Kuczmarski, N.Chiminian & J. Amanatides, Greece never trailed in the game, scoring 2 goals in every frame while rolling 3 solid lines, en route to a 6-1 rout.  Their disciplined positioning and tenacious defending stifled Haiti's offensive momentum, limiting their opportunities to create scoring chances. The lone bright spot for Haiti came in the late stages when they spoiled A. Ekonomakis’s shutout bid. Top of Form
