Dek Boucherville keeps rising
(8)Dek Boucherville vs Dek St-Eustache/St-Jerome(1)
Dek Boucherville continues to highlight why they are an absolute juggernaut. They came out swinging-from the drop of the ball, and they landed blow after blow onto the jaw of their opponent. So devastating that the Dek St-Eustache knew they had little to no chance, especially by finding themselves in the penalty box a little to often. In their first four goals alone, the Dek Boucherville moved the carpet capitalizing four times with the man advantage. During that span, A.Fradette had already completed his hat trick while M-A Trudeau scored the other as part of a dominant four goal performance. The Dek S-Eustache realized right away you cant give a team like that an inch and expect to survive, but the damage had already been done early on which cemented an easy win for a side running on all cylinders. There only little bright moment came when C.Farmer beat M.Jobin for a rare time. Tonight’s lesson will remind teams to stay out of the penalty box against the Dek Boucherville, who potted six out of their eight goals on the power play.
Centre SportXpo get Monkey off their back, despite short bench
(3)Centre SportXpo vs Dek Lanaudiere(2)
The Centre SportXpo had been in the grind-from the start of the season and wanted nothing more than to finally get into the win column. And although it didn’t help playing with a shortened bench, the troops bought into a system and were eventually rewarded in what was a tough battle with the Dek Lanaudiere. Its safe to say they took advantage of one key area of the game which was the power play. All three goals came with the man advantage for the CentreSportXpo, with scoring efforts-from three different players. Perhaps the key marker came when M.St-Cyr snapped a second period 1-1 tie. The voice level for T.Iannitto was noticeably raised-from that point on, and the teams effort level raised knowing what was at stake trying to avoid another loss. Some breathing room did occur when P.Chery widened the gap by two. The captain M.Fortier did have the last say for Dek Lanaudiere, but time just wasted there for the comeback. The Centre SportXpo slipped-from the start of the season and look to get back on track. Maybe a character win as such will turn the tides for a club in search of answers.
The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Antoine Fradette of Dek Boucherville. Just an incredible start for a player that’s able to bury three power play goals in a very short period of time.
