Le Rinque hold on for 2-1 win over Centre SportXpo

Sparked by a pair of consecutive goals, Le Rinque on Tuesday night rattled off their sixth straight victory edging the Centre SportXpo by a slight 2-1 margin. Both their tallies came-from K.Kuczmarki setting up G.Lubwele on the power play, and T.Pham that completed a perfect one timer giving F.Gagnon no chance what so ever. The 2-0 lead came by the five minute mark of the second period where the Centre SportXpo wasn’t yet concerned about the time. Le Rinque did a great job limiting mistakes while getting the big saves expected by C.Lantin. Eventually the Centre SportXpo cracked the barrier, and got on board early in the third period thanks to a power play marker by M. Fazzari. In hopes of building off that momentum, the Centre SportXpo continued to play solid and competed very hard in order to equalize, but couldn’t quite get that inch or bounce required. Its never easy spotting Le Rinque a lead as they make it extremely difficult to leave much room out there. To the Centre SportXpo’s credit however, they did put plenty of pressure while generating some high end chances only to miss the target by a fraction at times. Sometimes the bounces just don’t go your way no matter how hard you try which was the case for the losing side in tonight’s match up.
The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Christian Lantin of Le Rinque. The star goalie stopped all but one shot stymying the Centre SportXpo en route to a 2-1 victory.
