Generals dominate, seizing control in lopsided win over Fatal Demons

The momentum only swung heavily in the Generals favour after the two teams kept it very close for a solid period and change. The cohesive teamwork became increasingly evident as the Generals made plays extremely difficult to defend. Although some came-from the offensive neutral zone on big slap shots, the Generals created space up close as well before finishing off some nice passing plays. M.Pinheiro started strong posting a hat trick followed with K.Duplin and B.Jutras bagging a pair. With a slight 5-3 lead entering the third period, this contest still left some hope for a potential Fatal Demons comeback. Instead, things only got worst for the trailing side as they eventually wanted nothing more than to hear the final buzzer sound off. The Generals never let go of the gas pedal as they continued to showcase their skill by running up the score with ease. It was clear that the Fatal Demons had lost interest in trying to keep up. 

Armadillos roll to an easy win over the Brew Crew

Continuing-from where they left off after last seasons championship game, the Armadillos took charge early setting the pace with high skill passing and a natural finishing touch that had the Brew Crew scrambling to keep up. They established a formidable lead mid way in the second period when P.Musto notched his second in a shorthanded situation. Yet to concede a goal, C.Stavriadis fell short of a perfect score sheet on L.Ricciardi’s power play marker. P.Arkalis would then score his first of two, and the Armadillos rode out an easy third period to hand the Brew Crew a thumping defeat. S.Athanasopoulos also tallied twice as part of a four point performance. Its not like the Brew Crew don’t have the fire power up front. However, when going up against a resilient defence along with a dialled net minder, goals  can be hard to come by. The Brew Crew will need to put this one behind them in a young season that has a promising potential.

Krazy Train pulls away in third period to outlast Rated R

It was a blazing start for the Krazy Train as they left Rated R in the dust on three first period goals. Staring down a substantial deficit, Rated R  faced the daunting task of regaining control and finding a way to counter the explosive offense of the Krazy Train. Adjustments in defensive strategies and capitalising on offensive opportunities became crucial for a potential comeback. At one point, Rated R narrowed the gap by only one suggesting a close and difficult end to the game. However, once the third period began, the momentum switched in the Krazy Trains’ corner as they overwhelmed the opposition on four unanswered goals. Known for his goals scoring capabilities, D.Lombardi took a different role by setting up all four markers in which J.Lulic benefited twice.

The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Marc Pinheiro of the Generals. His early hat trick set the path way for a highly skilled Generals team to victory in their season opener.
