High quality effort keeps Mighty Drunks going strong

The Mighty Drunks continued their winning streak on Wednesday night by handing the Bad Habits a 9-4 loss. The one area that’s helped the Mighty Drunks success so far this season is their ability to score goals. They’ve already reached 38 goals for in only four games while conceding only twelve. Remarkably, they did it without a pair of key guns out of their line up. Instead, M.Guibault took the torch and was absolutely dynamite riffling four markers and three assists. For two straight periods, the Bad Habits weren’t out of it trailing only 5-3. It was only by the third period that the game tilted in one direction.

Left wings ride special teams in double up win over Fat Roy

Whether they were a man up or a man down, the Left Wings scored in every possible way .Two of their six goals came with the man advantage while their most important one perhaps came with a man short. F.Bolduc used a second period shorthanded tally that would eventually stand as the game winner. The fact that the Left Wings special teams were so sharp speaks in many ways why they occupy top seed of the D division. In addition to their overall success, the Left Wings demonstrated that they don’t need to rely on anyone in particular, especially when the scoring came from six different players. A.Perrault and R.Morne, although didn’t find the back of the net, created plenty of offense as both players shared three helpers each.

Knights battle back only to fall apart in third period

During an eye opening second period stretch, the Knights put themselves back on track after falling behind 3-1 to the Horsemen. Unfortunately, it was all over shadowed as the Horsemen took over winning a decisive frame. It was clear the Knights weren’t focused heading into the third period, especially by not paying attention to some key players. The Horsemen saw their top guns continue their offensive onslaught after going dry in the second period. P.Sidhom was lights out bagging four goals, M.Kardum chipped in with a pair, and A.Gerontzos along with his captain V.Pandza contributed collecting three points each.

(2)Fitforce Phoenix vs AREZ(3) O.T

E.Salhany scores in overtime for AREZ’s first lead of the game

The Fitforce Phoenix had a promising start to the night when A.Saleh scored shorthanded. However, C.Kheriaty did tie things up only minutes later. The second period saw both teams continue a tight checking game with neither side able to snap the tie. Eventually, something was to give and that’s when Ali Khanafer regained the lead for the Fitforce Phoenix courtesy of a power ply goal. Even though it was only a slight lead, the Fitforce Phoenix figured the three points to the standings were likely for how well they defended and for how good M.St-Laurnet was performing in net. But for a second straight time, the AREZ showed their resilience and benefited when E.El-Kareh evened the score. From there, both sides went the extra distance where the game was ultimately decided in overtime. The Fitforce Phoenix weren’t able to contain one area of their game, and that was their discipline. After taking their fifth penalty, the inevitable happened when E.Salhany struck in overtime for AREZ.

(9)Buckshots vs Underdogs(1)

Buckshots law down the hammer for a forth straight win

The Buckshots put forth another convincing win on Wednesday night. This time, the Underdogs fell victims going up against a team rolling on all cylinders. N.Kokovidis paced the Buckshots offensive charge by setting up his clubs first three goals of the game. Naturally, the Buckshots would get balanced scoring from all their top players. A.Kounadis and M.Destounis each scored twice and G.Follano allowed his only tally early in the third period where O.Bourgeois scored shorthanded .Most of the damage was caused in the second period alone where the Buckshots ignited five unanswered goals to put the game out of reach.

The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Peter Sidhom of the Horsemen. There was no doubt the Horsemen’s forward was unstoppable on Wednesday night. With the game deadlocked after two periods, Sidhom was just getting started finishing off an impressive night with fours goals and two assists.

Bulldogs overcome slow start to edge out Carnage

It wasn’t the start the Bulldogs hoped for but they still managed to escape the opening frame up 3-2. G.Valente put Carnage in front twice during that stretch before X.Clement had the final saw to put the Bulldogs in front 3-2.It was clear from that point on the Bulldogs found their game as they never faltered their lead. However, that didn’t stop Carnage from pulling themselves within one after falling behind on two occasions by a pair of goals. J.DeMarco  showcased his hard work in the third period for Carnage by netting two markers to make things very interesting with less than 30 seconds remaining. Unfortunately, time wasn’t a luxury they had despite nearly scoring after a lose scramble in front of the Bulldogs net. J.Pace’s third period tally for the Bulldogs held up for the winner. In addition to that important goal, M.Turgeon helped lead the way by scoring twice while providing a helper.

(8)Armadillos vs Bramabulls(6)

Furious third period comeback falls short for Bramabulls

The Bramabulls chipped a seven goal deficit to only two goals, but the Armadillos were able to hold back the rally and hang on to an 8-6 victory. For two straight periods, it was all Armadillos as their confidence kept building on. They trusted their game plan and executed it perfectly that saw eight different players take turns finding the back of the net. The lead was so lopsided after two periods that this game seemingly was headed for a ten goal mercy. However, the Bramabulls didn’t panic and methodically trimmed the lead to only two goals before it was said and done. The comeback effort was led by J.Mandracchia, who seems to get better as the games go on. The forward went on another third period tear where he struck three times for a hat trick.

The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Maxime Turgeon of the Bulldogs. In what was a wild game versus Carnage, Turgeon was vital for the win posting two key goals and an assist.
