Centre SportXpo pull away in final frame to rout Dek St-Eustache/St-Jerome
(7)Centre SportXpo vs Dek St-Eustache/St-Jerome(0)
The Centre SportXpo knew they needed some time to put it together. With everyone stepping it up, it showed that their lines were connecting and that chemistry is the reason why many different players found the back of the net. Despite the lopsided score, the Dek St-Eustache didn’t make things easy for a large portion of the game. It was perhaps P.Chery’s goal for a 3-0 lead in the final frame that convinced both sides were this game was headed. The Centre SportXpo stuck to their system by being quick and maintaining ball possession which eventually led to an onslaught of tallies. J.Mandracchia didn’t score but did set up three different teammates while F.Gagnon was stellar to earn a shutout. As for the Dek St-Eustache, it seems like adversity is hitting them between the eyes as a group. Although they put up a decent challenge early on, its just not enough over the long haul.
Le Rinque pull off stunning comeback
(2)Dek Lanaudiere vs Le Rinque(3)
The leadership group and Le Rinque as a whole, turned what was a 25 minute snoozer on their part to an impressive one minute comeback. K.Kuczmarski took a lesson-from Sydney Crosby’s playbook, and scored a highlight real goal to finally put his club on board. Unfortunately for the Dek Lanaudiere, that was the beginning of the end for a side that couldn’t have asked for a better game till that point. It took only moments after for F.Caisse and C.Ghilarducci to flip the script and turn a forgettable game into an unforgettable finish. Le Rinque have had comebacks before, and had some talks during their breaks in between periods of which revolved around them shooting more and riding themselves off the fancy stuff. They may not have always played dominant throughout the season, but Le Rinque have that ability to find ways due to their offensive capabilities, and tonight was just another example that its never over when playing them. The Dek Lanaudiere found this out and will need to shake it out of their system knowing they played well enough to earn the win.
The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Carl Ghilarducci of Le Rinque. After setting up the equaliser, the lanky d-man went a step further providing his club a huge tie breaking goal that stood for the winner.
