Penguins outlast Ducks in overtime thriller
(7)Ducks vs Penguins( 8 )O.T
From-start to finish, the game was a roller coaster ride with both teams leaving it all on the court. The Ducks showcased their resilience throughout the game repeatedly battling back-from deficits to keep the pressure on the Penguins. Their determination was evident as they refused to let the Penguins pull away, constantly clawing their way back into contention. Much of the offense was created by T.Nardelli, who hit his target five times to get the better of B.Mourad. However, despite the Ducks relentless efforts, the Penguins proved to be just as tenacious. Since regulation time didn’t quite solve anything, both sides entered a sudden death frame in search of their next tally. That’s when the Penguins seized their moment with the extra space available. On a clear three vs two play, S.Sicuso sneaked his way into the open space where he released a precise top corner to beat A.Benedetto for his second.
The Allo Mon Coco Ste Dorothee player of the game goes to Sebastian Sicuso of the Penguins. As the pressure mounted and the tensions running high, S.Sicuso’s impact only grew stronger as the slick d-man used a blistering slap shot to end the game.
From-close start to commanding finish, Sharks overpower Canucks
(4)Canucks vs Sharks( 8 )
In a match up that began with both teams testing each others mettle, the Sharks steadily gained momentum to emerge victorious in a commanding win over the Canucks. The game kicked off with a tight start as the Sharks and Canucks engaged in a back and fort battle, each team trading scoring chances and defensive stops. Despite the close start, it was evident that the Sharks were determined to assert their dominance as the game progressed. Although much of the offense was spread out, Y.Bernier added a little more mustard to his game by rattling off a hat trick. B.Travisano had an impact as well collecting four points while D.Apikian was a wall in net denying plenty of shots toward him. Whatever the causes are for the Canucks poor play without the ball, they’ll need to figure out on how to tighten the bolts a little harder. Its not like they don’t have the hardware in their tool box with players such as T.Bergomi, E.Collela and M.Porato just to name a few.
The Allo Mon Coco Ste Dorothee player of the game goes to Yannick Bernier of the Sharks. The forward took centre stage in this one delivering a productive performance. By the time it was said and done, Bernier led all teammates with an impressive five points that included a hat trick.
