Chiefs blitz past Peters in back to back victories

A.Bigeault, O.Valiquette and K.Duplin all tallied twice in the win. The second encounter followed the same narrative , with the Chiefs once again asserting their dominance. With O.Valiquette and J.Gagne bagging a pair coupled with G.Vermette stopping everything for a shutout, the Chiefs were well on their way to another easy win.

DHK carry momentum into second encounter after shootout win over Assadi Consulting inc

The first game was a tightly contested affair, with both teams trading chances and the same amount of goals after two periods. The DHK had pulled ahead 3-2 courtesy of N.Francis, but that lead was short-lived as N.Chiminian responded almost immediately to send the game into an eventual shootout. It was DHK’s composure under pressure that saw them emerge victorious in the shootouts. N.Reid and A.Manelli each scored during the breakaways while M.Gagnon denied both attempts to secure the win. In the second encounter, the DHK carried the momentum-from their shootout triumph into the match able to control the tempo and pace of the game. Although M.Tvaronas struck very early, the next five goals all came-from the DHK. A.Olewinsky used a perfect wrist shot on the power play to give his side a slight 2-1 lead. That was his first of two with the man advantage with his second coming early in the final frame for a three goal cushion. With precision passing, relentless offensive pressure, and solid defensive play, DHK managed to keep the Assadi Consulting inc on their heels throughout the match, en route to a decisive victory.

Sharpshooters speed overwhelms Degenerates

From-the opening face off of the first game, it was clear that the Sharpshooters were determined to set the pace. Utilizing their exceptional speed and precision passing , they quickly took control of the game, dictating play and keeping the Degenerates on their heels. The Sharpshooters used a lethal counter attack to their advantage by having their active defensemen create offense for the forwards. D.Greco and A.Lepore were a perfect example of it as the two D-men collected eight out of a possible ten points. After a horrible finish for the Degenerates, the second game followed a similar script, with the Sharpshooters overwhelming a slower opponent. All six of their goals came-from different players. Even though the Degenerates tallied three times, two of their tallies had to come with the man advantage. The end results of both games shouldn’t come as much of a surprise when one team is able to get to the loose balls quicker than the other. By winning those little battles over the course of four periods, its only normal that the team with more ball possession will prevail in the end.

Hustlers outshine Classics in both wins

The Classics came out strong, applying pressure early on with A.Argiropoulos striking first. Then , just before the first period ended, J.Adamou responded to even things up. As the game progressed, the intensity only grew, with both teams exchanging scoring chances in a back and forth battle. Once P.Assadi broke the tie, the Hustlers closed it out when P.Arkalis scored on the power play for his third point of the game. In a continuation of their fierce rivalry, the Hustlers and the Classics clashed again in what was expected to be a close encounter. However , it didn’t quite turn out that way with the Hustlers setting a relentless pace that had the Classics on their heels. Most of the Hustlers goals all came in the final frame. With his precision passing and high hockey IQ, T.Bozinakis quickly became the focal point for the Hustlers offense. By the time the game ended, he collected five points in that single period alone that included four helpers. The Hustlers won both their games by outlasting the Classics in the final two frames where they caused most of their damage.

The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Guillaume Vermette of the Chiefs. Throughout both games, G.Vermette stood tall between the pipes, demonstrating remarkable focus, agility and composure. His keen awareness and quick reflexes thwarted every single chance except for one which enabled his team to capture two convincing wins.
