The stage was set for an epic showdown between two formidable rivals, the Sharks and the Ducks. The game kicked off with the Sharks unleashing a massive onslaught on four consecutive goals. It wasn’t like the Ducks didn’t have their fair share of chances. The problem was that D.Apikian was stopping everything no matter how convincing the scoring chances appeared to be. But the Ducks weren’t ready to back down. With resilience and determination, they mounted a remarkable comeback scoring seven consecutive goals. Finally, they cracked the Sharks defence and D.Apikian. That type of a momentum swing would normally suggest that the game would end up favouring the team with the hot hand. However, the Sharks also refused to go down without a fight and mounted a comeback of their own. They scored three straight goals to force a sudden death frame. The next tally would now decide the winner with the intensity on the rink palpable. In a heart breaking moment, the Sharks found an enormous ton of space with D.Greco running in a wide open area to beat the Ducks net minder, and ultimately secure a see saw affair. That was D.Greco’ third goal and seventh point of the game.

The Allo Mon Coco Ste Dorothee player of the game goes to Daniel Greco of the Sharks. Like a starving Shark weeks without food, the great white was on a hunting mission making sure to chew up as many ducklings as possible resulting in a nice seven point start to his regular season.

Penguins dominate Canucks to kick start their season

In a one sided contest that left the fans in awe, the Penguins delivered a commanding performance against the Canucks, securing a resounding 13-3 victory. From-the drop of the ball, the Penguins never let up scoring in waves that left the Canucks searching for answers. While many contributed offensively, F.Bchara’s performance was nothing short of sensational. The power forward went on a tear scoring three in a row doing it on two occasions that resulted in six goals. There is no question that this was not the kind of start the Canucks were hoping for. When games end like this, its better that it happens very early in the regular season. The Canucks will have plenty of time to make the necessary adjustments and improve as time goes on. As for the Penguins, the final score can only suggest that they have every area of their game covered.

The Allo Mon Coco Ste Dorothee player of the game goes to Fadl Bchara of the Penguins. His six goal game stole the spotlight as the power forward continued-from where he left off making his presence felt.
