Senators show grit in overtime loss to Blues

The game was a roller coaster of momentum swings, with both teams refusing to back down -from the challenge. The Blues came out strong, and had built a three goal cushion on a pair of occasions. Despite facing multiple deficits, the Senators never lost heart. With each goal against them, they rallied together, showcasing their determination to claw their way back into contention. Just when they thought they got their, T.Scarpelli put the Blues back on top late in the game. That tally forced the Senators to pull their net minder for the extra attacker. By having that extra player, the gamble paid off thanks to M.Matteo pouncing on a loose ball to level the game once more for the Senators. At no point did the Senators ever lead throughout the game with the Blues always playing ahead. Maybe overtime could have turned the tide since momentum seemed to be swinging in the Senators favour. However, it wasn’t quite the case as the Blues got the final word when T.Scarpelli posted his second to cap off the win.

Hurricanes unleash storm of offense in thumping win over Rangers

Right-from the get go, it was evident that the Hurricanes came to play. Their relentless attack put immense  pressure on the Rangers defense, resulting in a barrage of goals that left the opposition scrambling to keep up. Contributions came-from all corners of the team. T.Angelis, B.Monette and D.Lipinski all shared four points each while the spares spread their wealth as well. When score lines read as such, its likely every area of your game was out of sync. The Rangers have nothing positive to show for except for maybe M.Petraca spoiling M.Bouliane’s shutout. It doesn’t help when you aren’t playing with the ball and that the coverage isn’t where its supposed to be. The Hurricanes exploited the defensive side of the Rangers, and made sure to capitalise on their many chances. The game had just reached its mid way point, and the Hurricanes had already built an 8-1 lead. While the Rangers may have been outmatched on this particular night, they can take solace in knowing that every game presents an opportunity to learn and improve. As for the Hurricanes, just a near perfect outing as they dominated every area of their game.

The Allo Mon Coco Ste Dorothee player of the game goes to M.Bouliane of the Hurricanes. Although he would have likely collected the win in net, the net minder was still able to allow one single goal throughout the entire match.

Stars strong start propels them to double up victory over Golden Knights

It didn’t take long for the Stars to take control the game, and get on board to set the tone throughout the entire match. As they continued to surge ahead, the Stars defence held firm ,and B.Verducci was completely dialled in frustrating the opposition. It took up until the 34 minute mark for the Golden Knights to cash in for a second time only which narrowed the gap by two. While the deficit wasn’t overwhelming, the Golden Knights answered back almost immediately, with A.Hughes causing more havoc for her third goal of the game. S.Tosi also had a major input converting twice while setting up A.Maraj for the first goal on the match. It wasn’t like the Golden Knights didn’t have their fair share of opportunities with not many goals to show for. That was perhaps because B.Veducci stood in the way making difficult saves look easy. In the end, the Stars played to their strengths utilising every single member in order to get the result.
