Friday March 15
(6)Brewers vs Killer Wolves(14)
Four multi goal scorers lead Killer Wolves to 14-6 win
Unsurprisingly the Killer Wolves feasted once again on Friday night. This time, the Brewers fell victims to the highly charged Killer Wolves. What made this contest remarkable wasn't so much the final score but the fact that only four players shared all the goals. K.Dauphin and J.Brunet led the charge striking four times while E.Bastos and O.Valiquette each shared hat tricks. As much as the Brewers knew they had their hands full, the game was already done by the end of the first period with the Killer Wolves pouncing to a 7-1 lead. The Brewers, despite finding themselves deep in a hole had too much pride rather than to just give up. Five out of their six goals all game in the ensuing periods with T.Fernando and T.Michalidis bagging two tallies each.
(7)Excalibur vs National (8) O.T
National pull off magical rally erasing 3 goal deficit
The Excalibur have been forced to deal with a lot of adversity this season but one message they've always conveyed to one another is to stay with it and believe. Even though they didn't get the result they hoped for this contest inspired all their players that anything can happen. The Excalibur were all but a few minutes away-from defeating a heavy favourite. Unfortunately, they couldn't hang on to a 7-4 lead that vanished into thin air late in the third period. M.Pinheiro once gain made it all happen for his club as the captain struck three times while setting up three goals. However, the winner belonged to S.Laplante, who ended it only 45 seconds into overtime. Despite the loss, F.Bchara played an incredible role bagging four goals and an assist.
(6)The Pillows vs HBHA(7)
Captain J.Kontitsis scores late to lead HBHA over Pillows
All that counts is getting the win for J.Kontitsis, who did just that with less than 10 seconds remaining in the game. The captain was standing at the right place while patiently waiting for the ball to drop-from mid air before swiping it into an empty cage. The HBHA may have expected an easier night considering how lopsided last week's game was versus the Pillows. But sometimes things don't always go as expected which was the case in this particular night. Even if it was a tough one to take, the Pillows were overall satisfied for how well they played. Three out of there six goals came with the special teams. A.Zarzour and T. Settino each scored twice in the loss as both players combined for six points. The HBHA saw G.Vouloumanos nod a pair and J.Pantelis set up three different teammates.
(1)The Family vs National (7)
National took nothing for granted vs Family
Following a desperate comeback only an hour ago, the National weren't taking their next opponent for granted. That message was sent loud and clear by the time the first period ended. S.Laplante had already set up three goals, and M.Pinheiro along with E.Ferlatte each scored twice for a commanding 4-0 lead. The Family did adjust somewhat after that but couldn't overcome a large deficit. P.Spadafora was able to solve F.Lamarche, who shut the door the rest of the way earning his second win in only two hours. Perhaps the story of the night for National was more than their incredible comeback. M.Pinheiro accumulated a remarkable 13 points that included seven goals.
The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Marc Pinheiro of National. In a double header night, the captain was masterful riffling seven goals and six assists.
