(2)SBS Trashers vs The Blast(5)
The Blast power past SBS Trashers behind T.Dorneval 5 point performance
With the kind of display he provided, there was little the SBS Trashers could do to stop T.Dorneval. The Blast's forward opened and closed the scoring while setting up three markers that saw K.Gagne benefit twice. It took only a very short sequence for the Blast to erupt with three goals. The SBS Trashers did finish the second period strong when A.Plescia and M.Sartore finally got to P.Provost. In hopes of carrying that momentum, the game shifted back in the Blast's favour. This time, it took only one minute for them to bury two markers and ultimately put the match away.
(3)Legends vs Winters Soldiers (4)
Winter Soldiers prevail in third period to top Legends
Throughout the entire match, both teams went back and forth giving it all they had. Neither side ever went up after two periods leaving only 15 minutes or more for something to give. Then, in a very short amount of time, the Winter Soldiers put themselves in the drives seat. D.Lombardi was able to notch his second right before A.Kakivelis doubled the lead. Considering how the Winter Soldiers were controlling a good part of the game, the two goal cushion felt like a safe bet for a victory. However, that was up until A.Zarzour narrowed the gap to one. The Legends had enough time to pull out their net minder for an extra attacker. They did manage a few shot attempts but most got blocked unable to reach the net.
(7)Bramabulls vs Fitforce Phoenix (3)
Bramabulls overpower Fitforce Phoenix in season debut
After a close first period, the Bramabulls got to work overwhelming their opponent on four second period markers. C.Palermo closed out the frame with back to back tallies, both goals coming with the help of D.Verta. Even though the Fitforce Phoenix struck early in the third period, the Bramabulls padded their lead anyway adding two more insurance goals. J.Lulic orchestrated four out of his clubs seven tallies due to his heads up play. The Bramabulls cashed in twice on special teams scoring once on the power play and the other shorthanded. Overall, a good start to their season. As for the Fitforce Phoenix, lessons will be taken-from this contest as they'll look to adjust moving forward.
The SalumiVino player of the night goes to T.Dorneval of the Blast. Sometimes, it's nice to have a player carry much of the load. Tonight, T.Dorneval did more than his share collecting all five points for an impressive season debut.
