(3)Devil Dawgz vs Brewers(2) O.T
Devil Dawgz win in overtime after late equaliser
S.Tzintzis’s goal early in overtime sealed the comeback as the Devil Dawgz were able to top the Brewers. The Devil Dawgz tied the game with 30 seconds left in the third on N.Faria’s power play goal. Twice the Devil Dawgz trailed and twice they climbed back to force the extra time. The game was somewhat of a stalemate with both sides leaning on their defensive structure and goaltending. M.Trivisonno and G.Platanitis were both sharp giving their club every chance possible to come out on top. However, it was M.Trivisonno that prevailed over his counter part with both goaltenders facing over 30 shots each.
(5)HBHA Seniors vs Pylons(0)
Nothing working for Pylons in lopsided affair
The Pylons can only hope this is as bad as it gets. Really, how much worse can they play on a night that nothing went right. Granted ,the HBHA Seniors have the artillery and the structure but its still no excuse for the poor play by the Pylons. From the drop of the ball, the HBHA Seniors did pretty much what they wanted controlling loads of ball possession. Eventually, chances would occur and the goals would surely start to pile up. The win came with scoring efforts from five different players that saw N.Kokovidis and P.Lapointe share three points each. Adding to that, it didn’t help that J.Vrettis took care of the cage. Even though the Pylons had limited scoring chances, Vrettis always stood in the way to earn a well deserved shutout.
(5)Templars vs Brmabulls(4)
Templars answer quickly to hang on over Bulls
Just when the Bramabulls dug themselves out, the Templars wasted no time to regain their lead and hang on to a nail biter. C.Moutafis keeps proving that he can score goals and tonight was another example of how vital he his to the Templars. His hat trick came right after S.Ruggiero buried his second in the third period. With still over ten minutes remaining, the Templars had a chance to address their defensive game, something that hasn’t been working for a couple of games. This time they got it right containing a desperate push from the Bramabulls. For the Templars, its about how many they give up and not how many they score.
(4)Chiefs vs The Family(5) O.T
J.Iacampo’s OT winner caps wild comeback for the Family
J.Iacampo scored the game winner in overtime as the Family rallied two goals down in the third to beat the Chiefs on Friday night. Prior to Iacampo’s heroics, the Family will look back at A.Jackson’s shot that sent the match into overtime with only 4 seconds on the clock. The Chiefs couldn’t have asked for a better game playing with barely a change to their bench. They trailed only once early in the contest before grabbing the lead up until the match was decided in overtime. Both sides will take their positives in this particular game. The Family pushed the pace till the very end where they benefited to grab the win while the Chiefs did all they could on a depleted line up that nearly got them to the finish line first.
The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Joe Iacampo of the Family. After getting his club on board to open the scoring, J.Iacampo capped off the night in style by netting a huge sudden death marker.
