Slayers rally but fall in shootout to Bengals HC
The Slayers erased a two goal third period deficit on Tuesday night, but the Bengals HC prevailed in the shootout to escape with a 6-4 decision. The Slayers were thoroughly outclassed in the first two periods unable or get much going. Defensively, they seemed to be a mess and didn't really have a solution on how to contain J.Gagne, who went on to score twice while adding a shootout marker. However, they did manage to flip the script in the third where they finally got the ball rolling. J.Scalia and M.Dettorre each shared two assists that included a big helper on M.Cerone's late equaliser. The problem was that they couldn't continue some good fortune in the breakaways. The Bengals HC were superior in that department with P.Barrette and J.Gagne each scoring while L-P Levac was sharp in net denying both attempts.
(3)Punishers vs Capitals(2) S.O
Punishers slip past Capitals with shootout win
P.Karvouriaris and N.Mackeen came through to help the Punishers get the better of the Capitals. P.Karvouriaris scored the lone shootout goal, and N.Mackeen made some timely saves during the game to fend off the Capitals. Looking back, the Capitals may have felt they deserve better after finding themselves playing twice with the lead. The problem was that they struggled in one area of their game, and that was on their special teams. Both goals they gave up came shorthanded and on the Punishers powerplay. K.Kavan set up C.Gingras with the man short while finding his captain J.Fidrilis for a huge power play marker. As for the Capitals, C.Bezeau and C.Valois each found the back of the net, both goals coming with the help of F.Jobin. The goaltenders were perhaps the reason why this game remained close by giving their respective clubs every chance possible to steal the game. The only difference occurred in the shootouts where N.Mackeen made that one extra save over his counter part C.Fortin.
The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Nikita Mackeen on the Punishers. After displaying a stellar performance for three plus periods, N.Mackeen was not to be denied stopping all three shot attempts in the shootouts.

(6)GK Lite vs Bengals HC(0)
Penalties a problem for Bengals HC in loss to GK Lite
For a whole period, the Bengals HC went toe to toe with the Gk Lite, and then the second period happened where everything took a sideways turn. The Bengals HC simply didn’t play enough of the period full strength, something you don’t want to do versus a team like the GK Lite. It was almost inevitable that the GK Lite would make them pay. K.Kuczmarski scored twice in the game and the GK Lite used balanced scoring to top their opponent while P-O Girouard stopped all 21 shots he faced to earn the shutout. Looking back, the Bengals HC will take the good and the bad after this loss. There was no doubt that they shot themselves in the foot after hanging around with a really good team for a long stretch.
The SalumiVino player of the night goes to P-O Girouard of the GK Lite. After facing 21 shots, the net minder held his ground en route to a perfect game between the pipes.
