Degenerates offense comes to life in second encounter with the Assadi Consulting inc
Despite facing some challenges after a low scoring loss, the Degenerates displayed a renewed energy and determination entering the second encounter. The Assadi Consulting inc hoped to duplicate an identical game plan by neutralising the Degenerates offense. Rather than limiting their chances and keeping them off the score sheet, the lanes opened up instead with different players finally finding the back of the net for the Degenerates. They led 4-1 early in the last frame as they looked to shut the door by applying a solid defensive game. Since the Assadi Consulting inc couldn’t quite generate high end chances, they removed their net minder for the extra room. The necessary gamble paid off for three straight goals that turned a huge deficit into a tie game. Out of nowhere, this contest looked to be headed for extra time. But after an unfortunate mishap, the Assadi Consulting inc paid the price when the Degenerates captain made sure to bury his breakaway chance. As likely expected before the night started, this mini series ended in another split between these two teams.

Peters clicking at the right time in two game sweep of Punishers (Playoffs , round 1 of first division)
In a thrilling opening game between the Peters and the Punishers, the match ended in a dramatic fashion with the Peters securing the victory in a shootout with the help of their captain and their goaltender. J.Morina displayed nerves of steel as he approached the Punishers net minder scoring a crucial goal that ultimately decided game one of this series. Losing in that fashion prompted the Punishers to add a little more juice to their game. In the large part, they followed their assignments and looked in pretty good shape when C.Stamadianos broke a 1-1 tie with just over four minutes to go. However, the Peters determined to change the course of the contest, unleashed a quick flurry of goals. Within the blink of an eye, the Peters players capitalised on opportunities that they generated out of desperation. Scoring twice in ten seconds, they not only equalised the score but also claimed the lead thanks to their captain once more J.Morina. The Punishers were left stunned but didn’t let go in hopes of evening the score. Unfortunately, with C.Fortin playing lights out-from the beginning of the night, the net minder was to dialled in making sure nothing would beat him. These two wins now send the Peters into the semi final round as the competition gets fiercer in a very demanding division.

Sharpshooters storm out of gate riding four first period goals
It didn’t take long for the Sharpshooters to set the tone in one of their last regular season games. The early lead that erupted into four consecutive goals undoubtedly provided a significant confidence boost allowing them to control the flow of the game. Scoring a hat trick in one single period is a rare accomplishment, and often requires a high skill set and perhaps some help-from your teammates. D.Greco contributed with three primary assists enabling his sniper M.Kardum to finish off three nice plays. Once the Sharpshooters built a sufficient lead, it was now up to the Snipers to figure out a way to bounce back. And although they managed to get that next tally, M.Vinciguerra and the rest of the Sharp Shooters focused their attention-from scoring to a more defensive strategy as they aimed to defend their lead. With game one in the books, the Sharpshooters remained focused as they searched to making it two in a row against the front runners of the division. The game remained close with neither side figuring out the goaltenders. Then, an unfortunate play halted the game , and both sides had to settle for the tie.

The SalumiVino player of the night goes to Johnny Morina of the Peters. His ability to find the back of the net in consecutive games at crucial moments played a huge role as to why his team is advancing to the next round. The captain scored a big second goal in the opening game before netting the winner in a shootout. Then, in game 2 , the cerebral forward was at it again, this time snapping a 2-2 tie with less than three minutes remaining.
With the Peters defeating the Punishers in the first round of the playoffs, they’ll now take on the first place Dragons in the semi finals of the first division. The match promises to be a highly anticipated showdown between two very familiar hockey teams. The Dragons, known for their strong defensive play and offensive prowess, pose a significant challenge to the Peters. A.Mirolla and J.Mandracchia will be players to watch for. As for the Peters, they’ll enter the semi finals with some confidence off a pair of key victories led by their captain J.Morina and other role players like M.Argiris, who registered five assists in tonight’s wins over the Punishers. Goaltending will also play a pivotal role. Expect an exciting set of events in this particular battle. The other semi final match up will feature the Classics taking on the Orient. This series promises to be a thrilling clash of talent vs talent. While the Classics have C.Gingras and J.Gagne as some high profile players, the Orient have the same in M.David and O.Wahid. What makes both these teams special is that there are no weaknesses. Both sides have a wide range of skilled, gritty and determined players along with two incredible goaltenders protecting the cage. For any betting person, its best to leave this one aside.
The second division regular season came to an end with all four teams participating in the semi final round. The match ups are as follows:
(1)Snipers vs Sharpshooters(4) Both teams will bring their unique strengths. For the Snipers, the formula is quite simple, and that’s to out work the Sharpshooters on every single play. As long as they play to their identity, chances will occur and the tempo will remain high. On the other hand, the Sharpshooters have their big three in their back end that create a lot of offense for the forwards that can benefit at any given moment. If they can showcase their offensive prowess and maintain a strong defensive presence , they’ll be in good position to compete with the division leaders.
(2)Assadi Consulting inc vs Degenerates(3) When teams are evenly matched like in this particular case, it becomes a question of doing all the little things right. Limiting mistakes will perhaps be the key difference as to who will prevail. Both teams will be aware of their surroundings as they’ll patiently wait to make the right play in hopes of beating the goaltenders. Taking a lead will be vital, as will the goaltending between R.Ranieri of the Degenerates and P.Assadi of the Assadi Consulting inc.
